Great smoke machine with good volume of smoke!

I bought this machine thinking I was only gonna use it a few times but since receiving it I've probably used it a couple dozen times. It only takes a few seconds to start making smoke once set up and I just use baby oil (mineral oil with fragrance) which is cheap and easy to get. I've used it to find evap leaks, exhaust leaks, oil leak, and vacuum leaks on a variety of vehicles. The unit is portable and uses the vehicles battery which is nice if you do mobile repair or go to friends houses to help them fix there junk. Not long after having the machine I got a call from a friend who was in town at a parts store and his car was surging and bascily undriveable. Hooked the machine up right in the parking lot and found that it had blown out an egr valve gasket causing a massive vacuum leak (also found where his valve cover was leaking from). Took a job that would probably take an hour and made it a 10 minute job. Only thing I'm not a fan of is the oil condensate drip when you shut it off but I think they all do that.

I have been chasing a boost leak for a while and needed a smoke test confirmation. This worked perfectly finding a leak at my intercooler seal. If you have an N55 engine I would recommend removing the air filter/box and also removing the intake pipe with Maf sensor. On first startup it can spit a very small amount of oil on the maf as the balloon seal is right next to it. The other option would be to temporarily wrap something around the maf like a microfiber to protect it without actuality touching it. For giggles I tried this on a depleted battery 🔋. Symptoms: 1. Air will work on/off but the smoke will not turn on. 2. The unit will pulse on/off as well as motor rpm fluctuations up/down. 3. Unit will spit oil when using a dead battery because the motor is kicking on/off. 4. Light will not be fully illuminated or blinking.

This case is fairly decent but way overpriced for a general purpose case. This is advertised to fit the Ancel S3000 EVAP smoke machine but the EVAP machine does not fit 'comfortably' in the case. I had to cut a circular hole in the separator panel so the pressure regulator knob would fit through.On the plus side, the machine and all accessories fit if you take to time to plan the layout carefully.I don't think I would purchase this item again.

The media could not be loaded. Works great very easy to use found the intake air leak instantly. The amount of smoke can be controlled the pressure gauge is very helpful and the little air bag is extremely useful. I have worked as a professional mechanic for over 15 years and this tool is fantastic very first step when diagnosing possible ontake air leaks is to have a smoke test performed before replacing any parts. Great for home use takes very little space.

Machine works awesome, use it for lot of testing for Evap testing as well as enclosed systems such as intakes and even turbo piping. Highly recommend as a hobby or for professional use
