Perfect Malet finger cushion!
Made for malet finger (broken finger tip). Very comfortable. Came in two sizes (see pics) I’m using the big one for now and i cover with athletic tape just to keep it from twisting at all and protect top of finger. Great buy! You want to bend it a little to keep finger tip straight so it heals. The little one is tiny - maybe good for a child but i would wrap a kids finger on top of that so it stays put. Of course check with your doctor !

Cut off the Velcro and use tape!
I have mallet finger and have been struggling with different options for about two weeks. I got four different kinds of braces …. In all of them it either irritated my skin or loosened up / fell off (even when taped) so my finger would bend and I’d have to start over with healing.Another reviewer on here suggested cutting off the Velcro on these and using bandaids / tape. That was the game changer! The fact you can bend the tip a little makes sure over time you are still keeping your finger straight. Using OK tape and being super careful I can finally keep my finger straight while transitioning from one brace to the clean one so the fact that there are two is great. They are also easier to function in than the others I tried. Less bulk once you take the Velcro off.

Warning-- do not bend upward!
Warning-- It seems very natural to want to bend these upward. But after a while I was causing a lot of pain on my joint and then I read in a medical journal that leaning towards hyperextension is a common mistake for people splinting their own knuckle, and that people often cause too much strain on the tendon by doing this, delaying healing. Just keep it straight, or even better is to align it with how your finger is normally relaxed. If I could change one thing it would be that the small splint has the larger size strap, as often the strap puts too much pressure on one place, where it would be better to be distributed with a broader strap. But has worked for 2 months without too much trouble.

Make it yourself
It is a very basic item that you could make out of a popsicle stick and some tape, so save yourself some money. You can't sleep in it because you will wake up with it in the bed somewhere

Good quality product but not for me.
A great alternative to other splints especially if you have mallet finger. It keeps your finger in a hyperextented position which is great for healing. The Velcro is strong and durable. Two sizes came in the package. Only 3 stars because I don't like the feeling of the plastic Velcro strap between my other fingers. If this doesn't bother you it's a good choice.

very well made and IT WORKED!
i had bent the tip off middle finger backwards breaking the bone/splitting it and a piece of the bone detached. i went to hand surgeon and they made me two small plastic caskets with a short piece of velcro. i had to physically lift my finger and place it in this plastic thingy to insure it was at the VERY TOP OF It then velcro and then tape it on as it would not stay. So i looked on AMAZON, found these and it worked amazingly!! The vendor also included FREE the smaller one for me to try. it was okay but it did not cover enough of the finger and i could not get it tight so i had to tape it to keep it on. If needed as it has been over two months and i may need to purchase another of the larger ones... i think if i would have found this first instead of wasting time on the dr.s handmade plastic casket it would be healed now. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS!

Best for mallet finger!
I tried Stax, figure 8, metal/foam, and the ones that Velcro around your finger. The problem with all of them is you need your finger tip held pointing up, not just straight, for proper mallet finger healing and all of those kept it at best straight, but some had too much give also. I also found the hard plastic against skin caused a lot of skin irritation no matter how I padded it.It wasn’t until I got this splint that my finger started healing correctly! Some tips (ha ha):-I cut off the Velcro and used 2 band-aids to hold it place. Better skin protection and stays firmly in place-I also put on a band aid the length of my finger to keep the splint clean and odor free as much as possible-I tried it under my finger as shown and then tried bending the splint the other way so I could put it on top of my finger. Before long the splint started pulling apart. Under your finger is really the only way to go.Feel better soon and good luck!

poor fit
Too wide - the velcro straps do not cinch down enough to hold the splint in place because of the width. They are also rather scratchy around the edges if you have tender skin from your injury.
