This is the real deal wasabi. Most wasabi sold is mostly horseradish, not that there's anything wrong with that. But for the health benefits you want 100% real wasabi and this is it. Keep in mind that it's not spicy, more of a nutty flavor. And you need to add water to it and let it sit for 5-10 min and then it's ready. I add it to salad dressing. The price is right, the packaging is good, and what I really like is that the expiration date is far enough in advance where I don't have to worry about using it all up by the expiration date. Good all around.

This is freeze dried wasabi. The umami of real fresh ground wasabi is fascinating. My rating is based on three factors: color, taste and smell. Color: real, fresh ground in pale green; rehydrated this is a very dark green, probably a result of processing. Taste: this is harder to retain in processing, the flavor wasn't too bad, but it didn't compare. I would say it has a hint of the real deal And finally, the smell: this is where I was really put off. Fresh wasabi has a complex punjent odor. However, this product has a distinct, musty/earthy odor; one that I normally associate with mold or decay. I could not get pass the odor.

This product does not seem as the same wasabi powder purchased at Sprouts and taste horrible. Do not recommend it

Had a terrible, off, chemical aftertaste to it and it is NOT hot at all. Waste of money.
