Do you guys recomend some kind of holster for this, or just carry it in your hand as a self defense thingy?

I would check your local laws about carrying baton type weapons. Especially if you live in the garbage state of NJ.

Why did this item arrive with a cancer warning sticker on it?

I never gave it much thought. I bought this item because, at one time, I lived close to a neighbor who had an aggressive German Shepherd. One morning while walking my very mellow yellow Lab, the German Shepherd broke out of its yard and attacked my dog and was about to come towards me. I decided I needed a means to defend myself so I purchased this item.
