Bad quality control
Product comes in good packaging, it is heavy enough to be sturdy but light enough to carry around. My product came with scratches on the legs, the ball joint and even the protective cover for the ball joint. It’s like someone accidentally dragged it on concrete for a split second before packaging. The tripod was not level when you extend all the legs out, it would dip down to one side. It looked like it was unsymmetrical from bad machining at the point all the legs join together to form the base. The mechanism for extending them is good, however the method for angling them is not great. You have 3 settings for angling the legs.1. Angle it just a tiny bit so it is somewhat stable but it still stands so close to being upright in this position that, unless you extend the legs fully, it will most likely fall over with an accidental nudge or too much wind. You can’t use this position unless the legs are almost fully extended which is bad because this is the most versatile setting.2. Angle it more so the legs are too far angled outwards now and it looks more like you’re setting it up to be a tent.3. Extend them so they almost lay flat on the ground for macro. There’s no in-between because of the way the angling system works. Also if you lift the tripod, the legs will fall/drift down from gravity because the hinge is not tight enough. Some legs drift more than others because they are looser. So every time you lift the tripod to adjust its position, you have to lift every leg again to make sure they are locked to their setting. Hard to explain unless you have one yourself but it’s a tedious process to readjust. The package came with some Allen keys but never explained what to do with them so maybe there is a way to tighten the hinge for the legs so they don’t drift but I have no clue.I seen a review of someone saying the leg came off and the tripod fell over, I personally can’t imagine that ever happening unless you throw your body on the tripod. If you don’t do that then It looks sturdy enough to hold itself. The monopod leg screws off so maybe they didn’t screw it on enough and it fell off? I could imagine that being a weak point.I had to return my product so maybe I got an unlucky one.

High quality all around!
Received in 5 days to Ireland! This is a medium-weight tripod (1.9kg), not a professional videographer's manfrotto nor a cheap lightweight -- Just barely hikable for the devoted photographer. For the price, it is quite sturdy. It comes with a nice padded carry case with a shoulder strap. The hook under the central pillar is for hanging weights in case you are using it in windy conditions. The Victiv tripod can be changed into a wide variety of configurations, such as monopod, wide/flat stance, and camera beneath apex. I am struck by the high quality and finish of every part. For example, it has both a linear and a circular bubble level, the catch that holds the ball works very smoothly and catches it very firmly, The upper segments have soft but firm neoprene foam pads (like handlebar grips on a bike), the levers for locking the leg extensions are fiberglass-filled plastic for extra strength, and the rubber feet can be easily popped off to reveal metal spikes, but are held on well enough that they will never fall off accidentally. I bought it because it is quite tall, over 2m fully extended, so no crouching. To accomplish that it has four leg extension latches and five segments plus an extendible central pillar. It is a bit jiggly at full extension -- only for no-wind situations at full height. But you can spread the legs wide and add ballast for more stability. Key parts are all made of metal with a few unchamfered edges I will be filing down. There are no cross-beams to get in the way of macro photography when hanging the camera from the pillar. It comes with a 5-year warranty and a promise "If there is any defect in the following situation, our friendly, tender customer service will patiently listen to you and solve all problems." I did not realize I was buying a counseling service, too!

If you are looking for a camera tripod, buy this!!!
This is a strong, well-built, fit for purpose, sturdy tripod. I am using it for astrophotography with a Canon 6D mk II. Even with heavy lenses it doesn't even twitch. The tripod comes with a bag, Allen keys, instructions for use and spare plate and extension. The stability is just amazing but it also has a hook allowing you to hang a heavy object for EXTRA stability. I can take it with me anywhere and I am sure it will accompany me for many many astrophotography sessions. It is a gorgeous product, looks quite professional and I would recommend it to anyone, professional or amateur photographer. Don't hesitate. If you are looking for a quality product, go ahead and buy this.

The Rolls Royce of Tripods. Excellent value for money.
This is the best tripod I have ever purchased and I have had a few over the years. From quick release plates, to three bubble levels at the ball head to assist in alignment.Adjustment is ridiculously easy using the 360 degree markins so compass alignment is a simple matter, and leg adjustment is a dream even with heavy gloves on.I change frequently from camera equipment to binoculars so having the two plates already assembled wastes no time in a quick change over.I am looking forward to many years of outings with this apparatus mainly in the hills and island of Scotland with all the variety of weather that this will bring. I feel confident it will never let me down.

Disappointed but company made right
***update*** fabulous customer service. I have been sent a replacement so I am very happy***Finally got some time now we are on school holidays to try out this tripod properly. Second outing and one of the feet has come off and is now lost. I don't feel like it's very sturdy and I a lot of twisting and faffing to adjust it. It is not very well made.
