I’ll begin by clarifying that this handpan is a reasonable instrument for a new player. It’s somewhat in tune, and there’s a hint of resonance when playing. For someone wanting the richness of harmonics in each of the notes, you’ll be disappointed; I can’t get harmonic overtones no matter what I do or how hard I try. The sound is unidimensional, but again, passable.My biggest gripe is that I was delivered an instrument that was advertised as new, but was definitely used. The cleaning cloth had a distinct dirty handprint on it, and the handpan was clearly well handled with someone’s previous fingerprints. The small carrying bag for the mallets was also missing. I’d recommend to the seller that if you’re selling a used (and incomplete) product, then indicate that it’s used in the product description…and likewise sell it at a reduced price. This was clearly not a giftable handpan. I contacted the seller Nina P for assistance and advice, and received no response. Overall, you may wish to look elsewhere for your handpan.

Did not come with mallets to play and the color looks nothing like the picture. It looks silver instead of gold. If I got what was advertised. I would change the stars. Should definitely be discounted price for what I got

I'm updating my previous review nine months into daily use of this drum and I couldn't be happier with the sound quality, the tuning, the durable finish and the resonance. After about a month I finally figured out the magic formula for getting it to ring with the tap of a finger. It even note bends when you hit the center ding just right. It's a bit like learning to play harmonics on the guitar, so be patient and keep that in mind. Don't give up on yourself! Use the mallets to get creative, gently, until you get the hang of it and you'll be off to the races meditating every day away. It's that amazing. I've even added an extra star, because for the price, the quality and durability are amazing.

I like the sound of the handpan but as soon as I took it out of the box the clip holding the seal broke in multiple pieces....

I'd been very interested in getting a hand pan for several years now--but never made the move, largely because they were too expensive and most recommended creators had a waiting list. I'd also seen blogs online and videos on YouTube which convinced me that the $500+ hand pans on Amazon were just cheap knock-offs; not real instruments. I'm not a professional musician, but I do play music, and was very impressed by the Lomuty 22" hand pan when I received it. Firstly--its perfectly in tune, which means it is a professional instrument. The sounds is enchanting; I've already lost myself several times in a deep, musical meditation--and I've only had the instrument for a few days. I can't wait to delve into it even more and create some inspired music!
