Convenient and mobile
I already had 3 batteries, and I needed to plug in tools and a fan beyond the reach of extension cords. This keeps the fan going for at least 3 hours, and will run my saw as well.

Works for Ryobi too (with some work)
I used this to make my own version of a 40v Ryobi 300w inverter. Ryobi sells their own, but I bought and return ed 3 in a span of 2 weeks. All failing in odd ways, one of them ended up almost catching fire, hah! Whoops!Greenworks inverter here, uses just 2 wires on the connector. Positive and negative. No smarts on connecting to the battery. So apply 40v, and it just works. I cut the greenworks connector off, spliced in a Ryobi connector, and blamo! Ryobi inverter! What actually makes this safe, is that Ryobis batteries have the protection built into them. So if ya pull too much watts, the battery itself shuts off. Voltage gets too low? Battery shuts itself off. They are actually pretty nice. Also, this inverter is marked as 300w, but I've been able to pull 350! The fan runs on super slow if there is no load and ramps up when the load goes up. It's not loud really. The inverter is all metal construction. Unlike Ryobis all plastic version. The USB's actually work! 2 of them. All three of the Ryobi ones died, hah! They would charge when I first got it, then just... Stop working! This inverter is better in every way. If ya know how to do it, they sell the Ryobi 3D printer battery connector for 40v batteries. Make your own. Or just buy into greenworks batteries. I hear those aren't too bad either!

Great product for all my Greenworks batteries
Having invested in the Greenworks ecosystem, this inverter is perfect for mobile electronics. Works well for small electric fans and accessories, even charged small laptops. Never even noticed the fan noise, but it has only been used outside with lots of folks around. A 5-star review would have been a pure sine wave inverter, and I would have paid extra for it. Otherwise, a great accessory to have around.Update: July 20, 2022Attempted to use it to power a blender (1000 watt). The blades did a partial rotation and stopped. The inverter became very hot - no smoke or smoky smell. Just stopped working. Probably fried the board. Oops :(Lesson learned. This is for very small electrical devices with small current draws in a pinch. Not Greenworks fault at all. It died doing something that it wasn't designed to do. Otherwise, use a more powerful inverter! LOL!FYI, plugged the blender into my Jackery rated for 200 watts and it blended the ice like a champ. Go figure.

Great value added for Greenworks 40V owners
All summer long I get great value from my Greenworks 40v lawn care equipment (mower, trimmer, blower, chainsaw). I love being able to use the same battery packs across tools. But until recently, that investment just sat around during the winter months. No more! As I was shopping for a large backup battery system to help us get through our frequent storm outages, I saw this clever device, which connects to our Greenworks 40v batteries and provides both AC and USB-A outlets. Brilliant! I get a ton of backup charging power using my existing batteries. What a great way to increase the ROI on the battery investments. One more use case for the Greenworks batteries, and means I don't have to invest in a separate $200 backup battery system that only gets used a few times a year.
