I got this as a present for my son, who's really into bugs at the moment. He enjoys hands-on activities like science experiments. It didn't take him long to get into it, and he stayed engaged the whole time. This makes for a fantastic gift. The material is just like any other "dig kit"—it's messy enough to use outside or in a contained spot indoors. It keeps him focused throughout the activity and provides some cool keepsakes afterward. My 6 year old daughter enjoyed this so much! We were able to do it inside using a large baking pan and there wasn’t much mess! The critters are super cool! Very fun activity for my homeschooler.

Very fun and educational, can teach your kids about fossilized amber. Bugs are varied and colorful. The material is the same as any “dig kit”, messy enough to do outside or in a cardboard box inside. Keeps attention through the process and neat keepsakes after but unless you have a budding paleontologist this may be a one and done activity which isn’t a bad thing, they should remember it for years!

My younger brother loved this. The pieces of amber were very nice and good quality for the price. It can get messy but it's easy to clean up and definitely worth it.
