Great value switching power supply. Not purchased as a direct replacement for a faulty PSU on a monitor, I used it to power an electronics hobby project I have been working on. 19.5v 1.7A peak load was a great fit for what I needed. Its happy being converted back down to 5V whilst maintaining +9 and -9 v for my operational amplifier component. I will return and buy some more of these, highly versatile. I suspect it powers a monitor pretty well too.

The plug started shorting after 12 months and fizzing, potentially a fire risk and in breach of the sales of goods act in terms of items must be fit for purpose.

This poorly made adapter stopped working within 5 weeks of receiving it. Sadly out with my returns period and I've sent a query off to the seller about a replacement or refund but heard nothing back. Probably the worst thing I've ever bought online anywhere. Seemed to be fine for the first 5 weeks and then suddenly the power supply started fizzing and hissing and it began to cut my monitor off completely. It's a moulded power supply so I can open it to check it internally. I found if you squeeze the sides of the adapter it does fight to stay on a wee bit longer, suggesting there is a possible loose connections inside the power supply but I can't confirm this. One star rating but in reality 0/10 for product and service provided.

Update, both have now failed from the same issue...I bought and received 2 of these around 6 - 7 weeks before making this post for my LG Monitors which came with eu plugs. They have been working up until recently when 1 of the 2 began to make a crackling / sizzling noise and generated a considerable amount of heat. The other one is working fine, so potentially it was a manufacturers defect on one of the plugs I received. In any case, the plug fits and powers the LG 27gn800 & LG 27up650.3 stars because I'm not so sure about their reliability...

Product started to arc and get dangerously hot! A fire hazard and lucky it was caught whilst the house was occupied.
