great pictures and illustrations

Way over priced
I found this elsewhere for about $12 cheaper and it was still over priced. As a one-stop source is fails miserably. The up-sides to this book: Lots of WWII era photographs and good quality paper. The downside is that there really isn't much new here. There is a lot of material covered which pretty much means you get the book version of sound bites. The book does stray from the subject matter from time to time, i.e. a brief section on ranks and honors. There is some dabbling in explaining German terminology and or why photos can be misinterpreted but these are, like the rest of the subjects, briefly discussed. All in all, I gave it 3 stars for the photographs but would give the text only a 2. There are more informative books on the market that are much cheaper. You can probably get 2 or 3 for the price of this one.
