Exceeds my needs and expectations
Let me start by disclosing that I am not a professional welder by any means. I needed a welder to fix my lawnmower deck and other random things around the house. I saw this on Amazon for a really cheap price so I researched Arccaptain on YouTube to see some reviews and it seemed to be a great device. I watched 2 hours of how to weld videos on YouTube and ordered this welder. Everything about this unit seemed well designed and me with no experience except videos was able to setup up and use in about 5 minutes after unpacking the box. It was easy to adjust wire tension and power settings after seeing how to on videos. It is a solid welder that after practicing laying beads on a few pieces of metal I fixed many things around my home and fixed a few things for friends. I've used it to weld as thin as door sheetmetal skin back onto door frame on friends van to 1/4" material on farm implements that are still holding tight and strong. The unit itself is light and highly portable and is handy that you can plug into 120v so it can be used anywhere without needing 220v plug. The mig torch and feed are smooth and easy for a beginner to use and the supplied wire is strong and doesn't put off alot of spatter. I've already sent links to a few of my friends who have bought units themselves because they liked mine so much. Great product buy it!

Great entry level multi-process welder! Almost perfect
The media could not be loaded. I have been really impressed with the ArcCaptain MIG200 multi-process welder. I bought this welder as an upgrade and replacement for my old Millermatic 140 welder. This ArcCaptain welder has so much more versatility, adjustment, and power compared to the old basic transformer MIG welder I'm coming from. The build quality is excellent, although it may not be as durable as a big name brand, but for DIY hobby use in the garage it will be more than tough enough. The welder comes with almost everything you need to MIG or stick weld out of the box. The only items you'll need to pick up are your MIG wire, shielding gas (unless you run flux-core wire), a gas regulator, or your stick welding electrodes. The welder comes with extra MIG consumables and uses standard tweco style contact tips readily available. 3 different styles of wire drive rolls are provided; V-groove for solid wire, knurled groove for flux wire, and U-groove for aluminum wire. Unfortunately ArcCaptain appears to have a packaging issue though because even with 7 drive rolls included in the kit none of them have a groove sized for running 0.035" (0.9mm) wire of any type. Hopefully they correct this issue in the future. This welder welds nicely and creates an easy to control weld bead. I'm a little rusty with my handwork so the inconsistencies in my test welds were the result of my own travel speed issues and not the welder. The Synergistic MIG functionality is really nice and provides a really good starting point for MIG weld settings. The one thing that ArcCaptain completely fails to mention in their user manual though is that when your in Synergistic mode you MUST set the AMPERAGE level appropriate for the material thickness being welded and then the machine will adjust the voltage and wire feed speed accordingly. For any beginner, just follow this rule of thumb and use 1 Amp for ever 0.001" of material thickness (ex. for welding 1/8" thick steel start with the welder set to 125A in synergistic mode and adjust the voltage from there if the weld is too hot/cold for your liking). My only minor complaints about the welder, aside from the missing 0.035" drive rolls, are that ArcCaptain didn't include a MIG setup chart sticker inside the door cover (which is standard practice on all MIG machines), and that the unit comes wired for 110V input and they provide a 110V to 220V adapter cable. I think this practice of passing 220V through a 110V plug is poor design and may even be a violation of certain electrical safety codes. The better design would've been to have a 220V cable wired to the unit and adapt down to a 110V plug when needed.Overall this ArcCaptain MIG200 welder is a great value for all of the functionality it provides. It provides many more advanced features typically reserved for welders 2-3X the price of this unit. ArcCaptains support team has also been very helpful and responsive to my emails and the customer support is excellent for an international company. I'd highly recommend this welder to anyone looking for an excellent value multi-process MIG welder.

Excellent little welder!
I have owned mine for a year now and liked it so much, I gave one to my brother for Christmas. He loves his as well. First off it is not a Miller. It does not use argon. It is not designed for heavy daily use. It is small, but looks are deceiving. It packs a punch. If you are a garage guy and need a 110 welder for your projects, this little guy performs. My garage does not have 220, so I was forced to use a 110 welder. I originally had a HF 110 mig. It was terrible compared to this one. This welder utilizes DC output and employs heavy capacitors to achieve extremely stable voltage/ current. Rock solid output. So no surprises to your welding puddle, while laying down a bead.It is well built and easy to carry. I take this welder with me when off road camping and use my generator to power it.I added a better grounding clamp and am using Lincoln .030 wire and tips now.Not sure what else to say. It is an extremely good little welder for the money. I would highly recommend. I will probably look into other Arccaptain products after owning this and witnessing its performance for myself.Hope this review helps someone.

So far, so good
So far everything is as described and works as intended. The machine is fairly lightweight and came with some small parts and tools to get it setup. it also came with a gas hose, stick welder, ground clamp and a MIG welding gun. I still need to get the TIG attachment separately, but I will write a review on that item separately. Not really an issue/complaint, but when opening the manual, a sticker sheet fell out. I thought it was pretty cool to include stickers, although I wont use them. However, after looking at the stickers, there were typos on them that made it clear they were translated to English from Chinese. I get it, its a welder from China, but it doesn't exactly give you confidence in your welder when something as simple as word typos weren't addressed prior to production/shipping.

Solid connections, plenty of power, easy to use.
I just started welding (hobby) and after much research decided to give this a try. The MIG welder works great, just don't let the wire spool loose for even a moment while installing. Stick welding is easy once you get the hang of it. Power has never been an issue. I have it plugged into a 220v 60amp outlet, but much of what I do could probably be achieved with the 110v adapter cord and 110v outlet, although I haven't tried. I haven't yet tried TIG welding because it requires gas (which will work with this unit) which will be my next investment.
