This thing rocks
Review is for the 512 gig version.Let's start with the not so good & please consider, I have spent about 4 hours with this thing & you would likely need a couple of solid weeks just to scratch the surface of what is included. I'm not exaggerating.1) Some of the games are unusable. I expected this to some degree, because let's face it, this card has more than most people ever would need. Specifically, Shadow of the Beast on Amiga. Loads partway and then asks for Disk 2. I'm stuck there but I did reach out to support and will amend this as needed. Noticed some of the games that should be in English are not. I found some of the MS-DOS games still have the old "Look up something in the manual" copy protection & most people will not get very far when that happens.2) A Raspberry Pi 4 will choke on the N64 and Dreamcast games - Less of a big deal for me. I bought it for MAME, Atari, Coleco and Amiga. Although a friend mentioned the Orange Pi 5 as a possible fix for this. I mean, they run but they are choppy, so know this going in.3) I do not see a way to modify machine settings on the MAME games. Seems to me I have seen options to tinker with the machine specific settings, but admittedly, it's been awhile. Also asked support about this and will update as needed. Now the good:1) I had a hell of a lot of fun with this card. As I mentioned, it's more than anyone probably would ever need but if I had bought a smaller one, I would have regretted it and wondered.2) It's got nearly everything. The PS1 game collection could be larger I guess but I was happy to see the ESPN Extreme Games included. I literally haven't begun to scratch the surface of what all is here. It even includes a fair amount of homebrew games based on Streets of Rage I think. I doubt you could ever play everything on this card even if you had the time and inclination. Also has a "Pick a random game" button built into the menu. Just BROWSING the damned thing is a good time and if you're like me (Been playing video games since there were video games), you're going to remember a lot of things you probably haven't thought about in years. Feel like a kid again. It's fun and all too rare.3) Slick presentation - My main reason for buying a preloaded Batocera card is time. I don't have any. I know you can do one of these yourself for the price of a blank micro SD card but this is likely better than I would have done if I had the time and inclination. You plug it in, boot your Pi and you're playing games after configuring a controller. The Amiga loading screens have the disk drive clicks, which was delightful to hear again. I mean, the whole thing just put a big ol' dumb smile on my face. When you're browsing games, generally you get a video of gameplay as well as a description of the game. There are multiple ways to search.4) Controller Configuration - Couldn't be easier. Recognized my Logitech USB joysticks and prompted me to setup the buttons. Can't complain about this at all. I found it much easier to use once I had a keyboard connected. Escape 2x gets you out of a game and back to the menu.5) There are so many games. I mean, I consider myself well informed when it comes to retro games & there is so much here and so much I have no idea about. They really did include an obscene amount of content. So, should you buy one of these? If you love old video games, I have no reservations recommending this purchase.

Plug and Play
I am using the sd card on a Raspberry Pi 4B. I plugged the Sonicon card in, started the Pi and it worked well without any frustration. The menu is nicely organized with great music, has the feel of a very competently engineered product. Every game I’ve tried thus far has performed as expected with few exceptions. Seller is responsive and prompt, very helpful in answering the questions I had. Highly recommended.

The card's high-speed performance ensures smooth gameplay with minimal loading times, allowing me to immerse myself fully in the gaming experience. The customer service is extraordinary. I had troubles, connecting it to my tankstick and customer support helped me out and had me running in no time. Plus, the durability of the card gives me peace of mind that it will withstand countless hours of gaming sessions. I'm thrilled with my purchase and highly recommend Sonicon to any avid gamers looking to level up their retro gaming setup!

Good playing, not much else
I’m not one to care about aesthetics over functionality, but the vendor specially advertised the micro sd card as having a RetroPie-themed skin that it actually lacks.During controller mapping, I discovered it wasn’t compatible with the analog sticks of my fairly common Forty4 GC201 controller. I figured it was just outdated drivers, so I attempted to update the image but the micro sd card lacked enough storage for that - looks like I’ll have to free up some space by deleting some games. Not to split hairs, but it’s also advertised as having 22,000+ games - it’s actually 21,880, which is hilariously more than I will ever play but inaccurately advertised. All that being said, about 15 minutes of jumping into different games and it’s certainly been tweaked and optimized. N64’s Mario Kart 64 and PSP’s GTA: LCS were both running pretty smooth on my non-overclocked RPi 4b 8gb. They weren’t running at 60 fps, but it wasn’t bad for N64 and PSP emulation on a Pi.It might also be important to understand that this isn’t Raspbian OS and it lacks a lot of common linux commands, so it’s most certainly not geared towards using the terminal. If you’re just a nostalgic gamer wanting to plug and play your childhood, it won’t be a problem. If you’re the type of person who will want to poke around under the hood, it’ll likely lead to pain and suffering. Trying to install the script for my argon one case resulted in an “unrecognized command: sudo” error - since it’s a script that you curl, that’s gonna require some keyboard-MacGyvering to overcome.Sonicon definitely spent a lot of time collecting, organizing, testing, optimizing, and polishing this build. There’s an asinine amount of games and the UI is very dressed up. I’ve played around with my own RetroPie build long enough to know I’ll never invest enough time to have it anywhere close to this in performance or aesthetics. However, if you’re wanting to do literally anything else beyond plugging in and playing, you’re choosing a struggle full of google searching and forum foraging.

Excellent title selection
This card is packed with all the retro games you can think of and so much more. It has a great presentation. You can tell the makers spent a lot of time and effort putting all this together. Also the tech support is phenomenal. They respond to questions almost immediately. Highly recommend. It will save you hundreds of hours if you were to build this on your own.
