Great item
I bought this over 3 years ago because I have a disability and I have trouble reaching to pick things off the floor. I still use it today - it hasn't broken in that time or lost any of its usefulness. It's sturdy and convenient. So happy with it. Definitely a recommended purchase for anyone who needs something like this.It is very useful for picking up things like paper, any small or light items that can be grabbed onto easily. It is not ideal for lifting things like a large coffee jar for example that would maybe be too heavy or difficult to grab onto. If you're looking for something that can pick up letters in your hallway or something light that you've dropped on the floor like a small piece of clothing then this is perfect.

Light and very useful, easy to use
A great product. for me this is a DIY tool to get extra reach but I did not a few really good things about it:- It's really light, but feels pretty sturdy- The grabbing jaws can be rotated easily to hold things at different orientations- The action on the handle is light touch, requiring little force. The travel on the trigger is about 1-2cm to achieve full closure.- I've played with a few things and have found easy to pick up clothes from the floor, and even coins on wooden floors which was impressive- one of the jaws is rubberised giving good grip on your target. On the negatives..- The magnet was detached in the packaging but easy to reattached by clipping on. After doing this though, it was very effective.- Not sure what the little bit on the top is for, but I'm sure I'll find a use for it eventually

Very Handy!!
I bought this reaching aid so that I could minimise the need to bend or crouch when I drop things because of a long standing back condition. They are a great help for many applications & I wouldn’t be without them now. I am about 6ft so the longer reach version was the perfect size. They do take a bit of trial & error when trying to pick up different things, it depends what it is & how it lays on the ground. The handle is good & light to use in order to close the jaws & the hook on the top jaw is handy, especially for taking socks off & then picking them up.The only minus is that the jaws are not heavy duty & you will see this if you try to pick up & grip something too heavy. The magnet at the top of the top jaw is also handy, although I had to glue mine in as it fell out, it’s going nowhere now!!All in all these are great, I use them everyday for various tasks & I am considering a second pair so I can put one upstairs & one downstairs.

Sturdy and strong, but lightweight and easy grip
Does it do the job?- Yes- This has a very strong grab mechanism that will easily grab, hold and pull/push desired items. Is this well designed and good quality?- Yes- The build is very sturdy and robust. Even at it's maximum 81 cm (32 inch) reach, the combi-reacher is a sturdy as when it is at its shortest length, with no noticeable wobble.- Despite its sturdy build, the item is very lightweight, with the balance of the items weight in the handle, rather than along its length or in the grabber itself.- Changing the length is easy and seamless, with little effort needed.- Rubber coverings on grabber that come into contact with picked up items work to prevent items slipping out of grabber, whilst protecting the items it holds.Would I buy this item again, or recommend to a friend?- Yes- The combi-reacher has many uses, for people old and young. Although this is used for dragging curtains that cannot be reached easily, I would suggest this might be especially useful to those with limited mobility who cannot reach, back pain, or anyone with poor grip strength.

useful utility
Useful assist for dressing in morning. Like the small shoehorn attachment. The trigger although having an extension guard lip, still has a nasty habit of nipping your finger if you have full grip of handle.Would also like to see a rubberised handle, as it slides easily off when rested on a smooth wall surface, requiring another human "grabber" to pick it up.

Buried among a ton of paper
This is great and looks robust enough for me to use. A sign of getting older.I bought this item and a dressing stick at the same time but I didn't realise they wouldn't be delivered at the same time. The stick came first and the driver joked that the last time she saw a box that size and so light, it was a calander. Well the box was huge. I got a little worried it was just a box of paper as I couldn't feel the stick. And then, wrapped up in about twenty feet of paper padding, there was my tiny stick. I had a mountain of paper sitting on top of a huge box and a two feet long piece of stick the circumference of your big toe. Well, we had a giggle, took a few pictures and amused our friends for a while. And then, another knock at the door and another driver presented a box that was twice as high as the earlier one and had much more paper in it. Well the grabber thing was not too far away from being similar in size and shape. Another battle to extract it from the paper. So, I piled the boxes on the settee and scooped up the paper and positioned my new purchases in front, just like a pair of golf clubs. It was a remarkable picture.I did wonder about complaining but it was just one of these things that happen, it made an otherwise dull day into a bit of a giggle. My son went nuts when he walked in and saw the monstrosity. We couldn't get much of it in the blue bin so my son had to take most of it to the recycling centre. At least the pile of paper and cardboard will have a second chance at life.
