Trixie Parla scratching post 62 cm, platinum grey

My cat loves this. Nice and chunky, he can really attack it without it falling over. The first thing he does when he comes in is use it, luckily leaves the furniture and carpets alone.

This was very easy for me to assemble, it fits nicely into the hall and it's tall enough for my cat to stand up and use it, or lie down on the plush base with all four paws on it! She's definitely given it the nod of approval! The price was good too. I'd buy it again when it wears out, which won't be for quite a long time!

I've had cats for many years, so have bought multiple cat posts.This is sturdy and the base is wide enough to ensure it doesn't fall over.Quality is good and my cat uses it everyday. Had it for 3+ months now and still looking good.

Excellent piece of kit. Stable base so doesn't get knocked over. Very happy. So is my cat! Who now has claws like sharp nails, and I have the plasters on my hands to prove it! Visit to the vet for a little claw tipping time I feel. Play with toys on a string round it and you will be there for hours! Most impressed.

I have bought this scratcher to replace the same one that has lasted for about 8 years. It is just the right size for our adult cat who uses it every day. Hopefully this will last as long as the last one and will prove to be a great buy.

I ordered this product in December 2023. On unpacking, it appeared flimsy and unfortunately this first impression has proved correct. It has collapsed after only four months, so I have now amended my former 3-star rating to 1-star.The thin fleece on the top of the pole was destroyed after about 1 month, but I overlooked that as the pole, and its ability to remain upright, is the most important function for the cat.The base seems to be constructed of thin reconstituted ersatz wood material, covered in fleece fabric. Yesterday the bolt attaching the upright to the base simply passed through the crumbling base yesterday, rendering the scratching pole useless unless I find another more solid base and drill a hole in it.For comparison, my cat has three other inexpensive scratching posts which have endured for several years, so this one lasting only four months is an indication of its poor quality. Very disappointing.

For typical domestic size cats this is perfectly adequate I'm sure. But if like my family you have a large, physically powerful cat then maybe consider something more sturdy. Our cat regularly unscrewed the post from the base, It's also quite light, he occasionally drags it from room to room. The base has a carpet-type covering which lasted a few weeks before becoming totally shredded, the rope covering the post lasted a little longer. Our regular size cat also has one of these, his has lasted very well.

I absolutely love, love, love, love, love love this item!! First of all is very easy to put together. I felt like it’s held up great over the past couple of months. My cat uses it every single day as well! I do have a larger cat: he is pretty long and he weighs about 10 pounds with several ounces to spare. I have no problem with him using it. The scratcher is very sturdy and it doesn’t tip over or shake when he uses it. I think the size is perfect. If you don’t have a lot of space but you still want to have a scratcher for your cat so they don’t indulge in bad behaviors this is the perfect fit. I also think the price is really great for this item, it’s a bit of a steal with how well the scratcher has held up. I like it so much that my parents also ended up purchasing it as well!

Most of the lower price scratching posts are made for kittens or small cats. I have 3 cats that are longer in length, and 2 of them weigh around 20 pounds. So the typical cheaper scratching post was usually too short for them and they would push it around the room as it was flimsy. This one is a good height and is fairly sturdy, though I do have it pushed up against a piece of furniture just because that's the best placement for it beside my couch where they were trying to scratch. A large cat might be able to push it around or knock it over if they wanted to or were aggressive while scratching. But overall I'm really happy with this product at this price point and I will probably repurchase when it wears out or if I need one for another area of my home.

Muy buen rascador. Mucho más resistente del que teníamos antes. Grueso, alto, con un pez (con el que juega mucho) y una base muy mullidita. Ideal!
