Which motor and controls are suitable for fitting to this train?

The standard Power Functions train motor can be used. Indeed it's designed with this in mind. Instructions are provided in the accompanying booklet. The newer Powered Up train motor could also be used, but some minor modifications would be needed.

Which Lego train would be good to buy this Horizon express or the new city train? This train is gone very expensive now

Personally I think Horizon is a superb set that no other Lego train set has ever matched, but yes it is expensive now. City train is... just... OK.

Hi, no on both counts unfortunately. We bought additional power units (bluetooth) and there are instructions on youtube to help you fit the power units.
