is it fun to play in two? are there different rules for playing in small group?

There is a rules variant in the rulebook for two players, and it works really well.

Is this the full game or just the character cards? Why is it called "Coup Character Cards?"

It's a bit confusing, but it is the full game. The game is basically the character cards, and some generic money tokens.

The description says "box contains 15 character cards (three each of duke, assassin, captain, ambassador, contessa)". is this the full game?

Good Afternoon BigHero6,Please pardon my slow reply but I must admit I don't check my messages very often. The game consists of the 15 character cards, 6 play cards which list the actions that the characters can take etc, 50 "coins" and a set of rules (oh really? you thought they were going make you guess how to play didn't you). I hope this is of help to you, it's a good game though it does take a bit of getting to grips with and everyone I've played it with has enjoyed it, although the last time ended up being a bit full contact (alcohol adds a little something to the gameplay).
