Low price combined with reliable power. I have recently tried some cheaper lesser known brands and wish I hadn't. So now back to Varta and a reliable brand. I have bought many over the years and have always been satisfied without any duds.

Having experienced cheap batteries leaking and destroying an expensive torch l vowed to never again use ‘cheap’ batteries which is why I now generally use Varta batteries.I have found these German-made batteries to be long lasting and trouble free. They are also excellent value for money.They come in an environmentally friendly plain cardboard packaging. They do not contain any mercury nor cadmium. Their shelf life is 10 years. I have found them long lasting in a variety of uses: torches, computer mice, children’s toys, remotes, etc. They have consistently performed well. From a price perspective l have found them cheaper than other high-profile brands which are heavily advertised. Vitally they have never leaked on me.Thus excellent quality and reliability at a good price.Recommended.

I bought these as I’ve used up my stock of AAA batteries for rear bike light, thermometers, clocks etc. I’ve found Varta a good brand previously and it’s German rather than Chinese sourced. The lifetime shown on the batteries is exactly 10 years as stated in the description so not old stock either. As stated the packaging was easily recycled rather than stiff plastic glued to card.
