Are these glasses really 1kg each?!! The double pack is listed as 2kg, and the single as 998g...otherwise I'd have assumed it was a typo!

No! The glasses are no heavier than a half tumbler, infact probably a little lighter. I can't remember exactly the weight of the package when it arrived, but it certainly wasn't as heavy as a bag of sugar, which is 1kg.

The manufacture will vary. Some are made in Germany by Stolzle but the later dated ones are manufactured in premium Geicel glass by the UK company Allied Glass. This is the same company that supplies premium whisky bottles to the worlds biggest brands.
