Sorry I'm late. But for anyone who wants to. Get some foam discs to put with them or the highs will be harsh. But yeah the brainwavz pads for on the k553.

Between k553 pro and k550? Which is better..

I asked customer service at AKG. They told me there was essentially no difference. Just a different name once the distribution changed.BUT, I bought them both and compared them carefully. The K553 simply sounds better. The base response was slightly improved. (A bit more punch and presence.)And the treble range has been improved. The K550's treble was a tiny bit too pronounced. A little too "silvery". The K553 does not have that problem. It sounds more correct. More neutral as it should be.I swear Im not just imagining things. The K553 does sound a little better. I kept the 553s and love them.

will these work for apple spatial audio and dolby atmos?

My recommendation, if apple does like Amazon music HD does with the 360 or Dolby Atmos, it goes down to standard quality, I wouldn't use that to test the quality. This is kinda just a gimmick that can be imitated on YouTube (and we all know that the quality there is trash). If you have a later model Samsung, you can use the built in Dolby Atmos and still have the high quality. My purpose for this answer is that listening to these headphones with spacial audio or streaming service-offered Dolby Atmos will cause you to miss out on the real quality of these cans.
