Johnstone's Paint to Block Stains - White 750ml

I bought some damp spray by a well known brand, and that seemed to stop the damp, but left a brown stain, and if I painted t over the brown showed through. This damp paint, went on well, and covered all damp and stains. This is in a previously very damp outbuilding with half the sandstone (plaster on top) rear wall under ground. Great product. Go with paint and forget the spray. Didn't notice and particularly strong smells from it.

It is good when I'm painting and there are stains on any of the paint work. Good coverage on all of my paint work.

Used to paint over the oil stain on the kitchen wall. I only needed 2 coats and it's perfectly covered.

Works really well to cover whatever stain, the product itself does then take a few coats to be itself covered. But overall, it's a good product and would purchase/use again.

I guess it comes down to what has caused the stain, what the original paint is and how long the patch has been there. We didn’t need to stir it too much.In use, it is a good consistency, i.e. it doesn’t drip when on the brush and a little goes a reasonable way. However, as others have commented, it took a few coats with sufficient drying time in between to completely mask the stain. As it was a relatively small patch, this wasn’t an issue in terms of the quantity of paint used.There is a slight odour, but nothing too potent to my sensitive nose...and it doesn’t hang around...so, thankfully, I didn’t need to cut up an onion!The brush cleaned up easily enough in warm soapy water.

It does what it says onthe tin, I got rip of some persistent stains. Really good value for money, it covers very well, as we got our walls brilliant white this paint just cover what it is needed.
