Great mould material!Highly recommended for quick life casting projects and soft temporary mould making with silicones since they do not bind to the alginate and are easy to remove!It's gelatinous so it does tear easily, so I wouldn't recommend it for multi-part moulds on models that have a lot of undercuts, but it's perfect for life-casting projects and simple shapes. However, because it is gelatinous it also degrades and breaks down quickly so once the alginate turns white (it looks more greyish to me) you need to remove the model and do a cast right away, because it doesn't last more than 48 hours once the moisture within it runs out. Usually you can only get one cast out of the mould because it tears easily, but it's down to your choice of casting material and how thick you made the alginate mould that seems to make a difference to how many uses it can get.I poured tin-cured silicone rubber into my mould and it came out wonderful, I even managed to get a second platinum-cured silicone cast out of it, but when it came to my plaster cast that was when the mould lost its give and when I removed the plaster cast it broke apart, so with care and using softer casting materials first you can get about 3 casts out of it.Casting with resin does not work because the alginate is too moist, I recommend a silicone mould for such projects.

Having read all kinds of different reviews - complete with 101 different ratios of powder to water - I was a little wary of trying this.MAJOR TIP: Ignore what you see, read or watch - just follow the instructions on the pack and it'll work fine!!! When it's a lovely magenta pink it's ready to use, when it turns a lighter pink it's in the setting stage and when it's a light grey/white colour, it's done. It really is THAT simple!If you feel the need to mix it using a powered mixer, use a proper decorator's attachment to lessen the amount of air bubbles. However air bubbles can also be avoided/lessened in the final mold process by tapping the container to encourage any bubbles to the top. Can't wait to use this with my Arts and Craft group next term.

I haven’t used this yet. Just wanted to be ready for my next compulsion to reproduce something. I’ve used similar products before, but back in the day I had to buy it from the dentist! I’m sure it will be excellent.

The quality is much worse than any other alginate i have used
