Great book, lots of sauces and varied, really good value for money easy to read, appealing pictures too.Good and easy instructions to follow.

Excellent
This is a comprehensive book, it covers a lot of ground. There is a thorough introduction to the primary basic sauces at the beginning, and then after that each sauce recipe also includes a recipe for one meal it can go with and often suggests other meals the sauce can be added to. Each sauce and meal has a photograph of the finished product. It also includes sauces for deserts and a detailed section on preserves and marinades. I was really impressed with this book and it is extremely reasonably priced given the voluminous content. I highly recommend this cook book.

Well written
So far only tried one sauce recipe but it turned out well. Certainly plenty to choose from covering all meats and fish. Lovely coloured photos to encourage. Good value too.

Great for aspiring chefs
Great book for those who want to expand or explore a wide range of sauces. I found a few which interested me but found that I didn't refer to the book all that much - probably more a statement about my limited range of recipes than the book itself! It would be a good addition to an aspiring chef's library.

Good book. Very useful reference, some superb recipes.
Great source of information. Comprehensive and more than just sauces. Chutneys, pickles, preserves and jellies also.

A cookbook to actually use
I’m a passionate home cook and like so many others, I have amassed a huge collection of cookbooks. Truth be told, I love to leaf through them but rarely make more than two or three of the recipes from any given book. Consequently, I’m trying to get rid of about 60 or more books. This book however, is a keeper. Some great classics and plenty of inspirational new recipes. It has taken some of my recipes to a whole new level.

This book is lovely. It has loads of different sources you can make in it. Beautiful pictures and well Designed recommended if you’re making home-made sauces
