This is the Sira, The History of Muhammad's rise to power. It goes hand in glove with the Koran.
If you want to understand Islam, you must read and understand the life of Muhammad and the Koran. If you are a Muslim, the Koran is the Unaltered word of Allah as transmitted to Muhammad by the angel Gabriel. If you are not a Muslim you should still know what the Sira and the Koran actually say. If you want to hold an informed opinion about Islam, terrorism, etc. knowing the Koran, Sira, and Hadith, is critical and the Center for Political Islam offers the easiest path to a solid understanding of Islam. The great thing about the Simplified Koran is that it has excerpts from the life of Muhammad, this Sira, so you know the context of what was going on in his life when he got these revelations, and every paragraph is referenced, so you can look it up online. The references are critical. You will find yourself with many WTF moments when reading. Going to Wiki Islam or other online sources may only compound your sense that the prophet was perhaps a crazy megalomaniac. Islam requires a certain cognitive dissidence where you have to hold as true multiple contradictory ideas. There are also just plain bizarre things that are not explained like the two giant transparent women in paradise.Know that most Muslims have a very sketchy understanding of Islam. Islam means submission and the only important thing is that Muslims all submit to Islam, and that we, non-Muslims, submit to Muslims.Islam is both the peaceful Islam of Mecca, and the violent Islam of Median. Islam is a series of tactics to gain supremacy over the world. 1) Be peaceful and gain acceptance and tolerance, 2) Gradually get concessions to Islam, bit by bit. 3) Take over 4) Eliminate the Heretics and Apostates. This is the program Muhammad followed first in Median and then later in Mecca. In this way Muhammad became the richest and most powerful man in the region, had 11 wives including 9 year old Aisha, while breaking every one of the 10 commandments.Know that Muhammad is the prophet of Allah, and the Ideal man, and you will be "The best of people". Rejecting this message makes you the "Worst of people", entitled to no rights under Islam. If you know little about Islam a good place to start is:InquiryIntoIslam (dot) comIf you really want to know about Islam read this Sira and read the Simplified Koran.

Outstanding! Factual!
Dr. Warner has done the world a great service in laying out for the average reader what Muhammad said in his own words. The heart of Islam is contained in this short work. You can see for yourselves in reading this book exactly how you are being lied to by your Pastor and your recent President. Islam has never been, and never will be peaceful. You can find that out for yourselves by reading this outstanding work. The Life of Muhammad in his own words.

Islam poses a great threat to the world and it is important to ...
This book is a short biography of Mohammed. It is well researched and quite informative. It can be read in one or two days. Islam poses a great threat to the world and it is important to know the nature of this threat. Knowing the creator of Islam , the one whose life Muslims try to emulate is an important step in knowing the nature of Islam. This book does a great job in a very straightforward easy to read and concise way of explaining this important information that I believe all Americans need to know because the threat from Islam is I believe the greatest threat that we face today and in the future.

An Entry Point for Understanding Islam
In just over sixty pages, Bill Warner offers a summary of the life of Mohammed based on received Muslim sources. He explains that Islam has a scriptural "trilogy": the life or "Sira" of Mohammed (a continuous narrative), the "Hadith" or collected traditions (short anecdotes about Mohammed's deeds and reactions), and the Qur'an. Warner's _Life of Mohammed_ is thus a good starting point for understanding Islam because the "Sira" is the only part of the "trilogy" offered in chronological sequence. Warner's three versions of the Qur'an (_A Two-Hour Koran_, _An Abridged Koran_, and _A Simple Koran_) all seek to bring the chronology of the "Sira" to the Qur'an itself, a collection of Mohammed's pronouncements traditionally arranged purely by the length of the text.Warner's unique thesis, expressed in a final chapter of comments, is that Islam is primarily a political ideology rather than a religion. Warner supports this thesis by making a contrast between the few converts to Mohammed's peaceful preaching in Mecca and the coercive conversion of all of Arabia in the decade after Mohammed's turn to military tactics. Warner also underscores a repeated motif from Mohammed's life, the development of a dualistic ethical system, one requiring rectitude toward fellow Muslims but allowing many forms of deceit and violence toward non-Muslim "infidels".Compared to many critics of Islamic terrorism, Warner is restrained in his comments. Nonetheless, Warner's use of original Islamic sources raises troubling questions that cannot be brushed aside. Rather than speculating about the connection between present-day terrorists and the religion that they proclaim, this book shows the connection between religious violence and the words and deeds of the Prophet Mohammed himself.

Infomrative and brave... but
A good read... but it doesnt have as much information as a scan through Bill Warner's youtube channel. Obviously its just one book, but if you've watch a few of his sermons, free on the channel you know most of this and more. However, it is still informative, and its good to support someone brave enough to call out the dangers of Islam.

A concise and accurate depiction of Muhammad's life.
As usual, Bill Warner provides an accurate, concise and unbiased account of Islamic history in order to satisfy the curiosity of average people who share an interest in Islam. This book is perfect for those who cannot take the time to read the full version of the Sira. (which I have and recommend as well)
