If your a casual Bryan Adams fan who is looking for all the tracks you know and love on one playlist - you've found it with this CD. If you would count yourself as a bigger fan who would, and has bought some of his studio albums - you don't need it. If you fall into that latter category, you'll be much better off with the double Anthology album, which contains all of these songs and much more besides.'Icon' is a series of CDs by Universal Music which give a brief snapshot of an artist/band's back catalogue, making them ideal for the curious listener. They have been criticised by many people, but I think it's great to have a line of albums at affordable prices that will appeal to people who want all the songs they know, with no tracks that they might regard as filler. I say affordable, but I would strongly advise paying against the current Amazon selling price of £7.99 as you can buy official (and more definitive) collections for cheaper, so shop around or buy from the Amazon market place.This set contains all of Bryan Adams' most obvious songs spanning a relatively long period in his career (early '80s to the early '90s), including the timeless power ballad rock classics 'Summer of 69', 'Heaven', 'Straight From The Heart' and 'Everything I Do I Do It For You'. If I was putting together a compilation like this, I would have chosen the same twelve tracks.The quality of the music will always rate five stars, but don't expect any liner notes and photos in the booklet as there aren't any. But then again, casual fans probably won't really care either way.
