Excellent for wide variety of knives. It’s big enough but not boxy/bulky. Slots are roomy without being too big. Very pleased with this item. Wood grain is nice also.

I purchased this knife block for my son for his new apartment. I had an old set of quality knives that I wanted to gift him and wanted to present them in something beautiful. This knife block was so perfect and did not break the bank. The color is like a deep brandy color and fit all the knives perfectly and even has room for a knife sharpener, utility scissors and steak knives. So compact, and rich wood color. The knives I gifted had black handles and I think it looked stunning on his kitchen countertop. I also suppose brushes stainless steel would look quite handsome too. Very happy with this purchase. My son was very impressed and thankful for the gift.

I am very pleased with this knife block. It is a beautiful piece of wood and holds a nice amount of knives. I was using the same knives over and over because I didn't like fishing around in my drawer for other knives. Now that they are so handy, I am using more of my different knives. I like that this holder has little feet that elevate it about 1/8" above the counter. If there are small spills or splashes on the counter it will not be sitting in the liquid. It holds my 8" chef knife with about 1" to spare. I have a pair of regular scissors in a scissor opening, and a pair of kitchen shears in the upper right corner where there is an opening for a knife sharpener. I also have 2 knives that share a larger opening in the top row, and they are still convenient to use. The base of this block projects about 8" from the back of the counter, so you need to plan where you will place it where it is still convenient but not in the way. I wish I had looked into purchasing this a long time ago, but I never thought about buying a knife holder without purchasing the knives to go in it, and those I already had!
