LENOX Tools Tube Cutter, Scissor Cut, Up To 1-5/16-Inch (12121S1)

After reading the other reviews I wasn't sure what to expect. First, a little background about me. I'm a homeowner who likes to DIY what he can to save money, and because I've often been let down by contractors (though also pleasantly surprised by a few). I decided to DIY a water softener installation after an insane quote from a plumber to do it. The house had a rough-in with PEX pipes and I have had zero experience with PEX and pressure-side plumbing in general. The Lenox Pex cutter made a nice straight cut with little effort through the existing 1" PEX pipe. It cut the 3/8" drain piping like it wasn't there. My impression of the tool is that it is remarkably well made despite being plastic. The lock works well to store it easier, and make it a little safer (the blade is extremely sharp).

Cheap, simple, reliable, clean cuts. Works great. I've made enough cuts with this to plumb a dual rain shower bathroom with a diverter to a hand held wand.

i have used junky kobalt that was sold in lowes. then bought this one and very satisfied. used for plastic conduit and pex pipe up to 3/4". thick blade but must be careful when cutting. even though the blade is thicker than most of the other brand cutters, still bendable if you do not cut the pipe by holding the scissor 90 degree angle to the pipe.

This cutter didn’t last two days cutting Pex tubing. It has too much plastic (including the cross bolt that holds the whole thing together, and that’s what failed on mine) for it to be anything more than a toy.Trashed this and went with a Milwaukee cutter. It cost twice as much, but will last almost forever.

I was happy to see how sharp this was. I use a lot of Lenox tools and bags so I definitely excited to use this too. However despite how sharp this thing was and how nice it looked getting straight cuts is unnecessarily hard. It likes to walk a lot and curve a lot while cutting making it a real challenge to cut with. I have many years using different kinds of pvc cutters big and small and I was not happy with how this turned out

Cuts through PEX without problem - perhaps it will dull with use and become harder to use later on but so far so good.The one gripe (and it's a significant one) - it's hard to get a straight cut. So far it's always sightly off from square cut by 1-2mm (30-60 thou) and that's with trying. Most crimps seem to get away with this but some form of alignment guide would be a big improvement.

Best PEX cutters I have ever used. I have bought a couple of other brand cutters to cut PEX with and they were horrible. These cutters cut 1/2 and 3/4 PEX like butter. I haven't used them on anything bigger. Makes clean and easy cuts all the way thru every time.
