Friends laughed, then it saved one of them
I bought this before a river trip, my friends laughed at me and called me “Ms. Safety.” One of them fell off the tube and I was able to calmly go get him out without him panicking because he knew it would be okay. Cracks me up that the ppl who scoff at safety devices are usually the ones who should have them.

Works well - not a fan of the ring
Rope releases from bag as designed - I like the foam disk at the bottom for additional floatation for the bag. I also like the carabiner to assist in anchoring to a tree etc during a rescue (don't tie to yourself!). I'm not a fan of the plastic ring float - I feel this detracts from a rescuer's ability to effectively throw the bag (student's have a hard time throwing with the ring at the end) and could snag on trees, rocks etc. during a river rescue. Well made bag though.

wonderful
this is wonderful and just what i needed and the quality is better than expected. The only issue i had was that i had to put a knot in the end so the bag would not slide all the way up the rope when thrown out so that the bag would stay at the end.

Need one for your boat
I hope not to need this, but it is great to have handy on the boat. It has an extra large carabiner hook on one end that you can attach to a railing. Seems like it will be easy to throw in an emergency.

It's everything a throw rope should be.
70 foot was a good length for me. No cliff edges or high banks to deal with. The knots on the ends did not look completely secure, so I whipped the tail end to prevent any possibility of the knot coming undone. I now have complete confidence in this throw rope. I am a recreational user, not part of a professional rescue team. The end knots knocked one star off my rating, but it was an easy fix.
