Impressively well made for the price
I ordered this milling machine vise base spec and reviews. I was uncertain between 5" and 6" vise because my milling table is 8” x 28” so I decided to order 6" and happy with my decision.I’m certainly not disappointed by the quality of the machining surface and precision of this vise. Of course there better quality vise out there but as beginners it fit my budget. My only constructive comment is the hardware ( t-slot bolt ) included could be better an oiler could be installed already and the dimensions of the handle clearly not accurate. P.s. I didn’t take the to colour match or strip and clear but it will be done.

Kind of a stretch calling this a milling vise, but fits my needs.
This is not a true milling vise but works fine on a drill press or workbench. For the money, it is a decent vise and is suitable for most jobs around the shop If you are getting into machining and looking for an actual milling vise, this is not what you need. I have no problem with the quality of the vise, just the description as a milling vise. All in all, it is a pretty decent vise and worth the money unless you are looking for the precision of an actual milling vise. I am happy with my purchase.

High quality for the money
I expected this to be a crappy Chinese vise I used to have 15 years ago.I used a Kurt DX6 before so I’m comparing this $120 to a $700+ vise. It’s not a Kurt, but surprisingly…it’s the same in regards to functionality. It holds a part with good accuracy. Parts do not shift at all with heavy clamping from one edge. Not even 0.0001”. Yes. Tenths gauge is rock solid when I put half my body weight on the vise screw. Just like a Kurt DX6.Make sure to wear gloves and spend an hour deburring all the knife edges it has. They will split your hand open easily.Moving the jaws isn’t as smooth. A Kurt glides like glass. This vise felt stiff. Lots of cleaning and using proper way oil helped.Just be glad there’s a good option like this if you’re just starting out. Great for a home gamer.I’m using it on my CNC. If you want a dual or triple vise setup on your table at home this starts to make a lot more sense. $1500 vs $250 is kind of a wild difference.Just make sure your table is big enough if you get the 6”. These vises aren’t small.

This is a great vice for the hobbyists.
This vice is well made, I was surprised at the quality you get for an economical price. I did remove the swivel base so I have more Z axis room on my small milling machine.
