First, For context, I am 46. I have looked after my skin, never smoked, light drinker, etc so my skin is reasonably good. But I also have lifelong health issues, impairing, among other things, my sleep and collagen production.So I have some fine lines around my eyes and I can certainly see age related changes in my skin.This eyeliner went on with ease. Did not drag or scratch at all. Yet it is firmer than my previous one so I believe it will last at least twice as long.It remained in place far better than my former eyeliner (also a well respected brand whose products I have been using for at least two decades).It smudged nicely - I like a soft, smoky look but not panda style. I apply my eyeliner to my inner lid rim and gently rub my eyes together to smudge and blend, tidying it up with a damp cotton bud.It leaves a defined line, outlining my eyes clearly , with a soft but tidy edge. It mostly stayed in place all day, perhaps a little fainter by the evening. I do touch and rub my eyes quite a lot and day to day, I only wear eyeliner and light dusting of translucent powder - after applying eyeliner - and I don't tend to reapply for the rest of the day.I purchased this product because I have been struggling to find my usual eyeliner the last couple of times I bought it. Unfortunately brands seem to enjoy discontinuing great products in search of new and rarely better onesI have always viewed Max Factor as a reliable, quality brand that isn't too extortionate priced since I first started wearing make up.However, in my younger years makeup contained more nasties and was more often tested on animals. On the whole this has improved so in desperation I tried this eyeliner, hoping it would be ok.Well, I now plan to switch permanently as I prefer it to my old one.Fingers crossed this doesn't result in Max Factor discontinuing it! ><

I like a liner that glides on easily on the inside of my eyelid, a lot are really hard and impossible unless you draw under the eye.This glides on my skin perfectly and looks super it is soft but just right and does not break easily, finally a liner that works well for the older person who does not want to draw cats eyes etc, this is great .

Not great - smudge easily and does not last long
