Works great for NAS

I ordered the “Binardat 5 Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch, 5 Ports 100/1000Mbps, Mini Size Metal Case Unmanaged Desktop|Wallmount Plug and Play” to review and to improve the wired portion of my home network. I really like the metal material used for the case of the switch. I also like the compact size of the switch. The simplicity and the effectiveness of the design is a real bonus. The supplied power cord is a bit short but there is an included power block which is rare with low voltage electronics these days. I have no means to test speed claims and this aspect is not of significant importance to me at this time. 4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️– Average to Above Average – At least what you would expect based on the Product Page. I bought the 8 SFP + 2 1G-ethernet switch for my fiber optic LAN. I already had a spare 12V linear power supply ready for it as well... I needed to incorporate a 1G switch due to issues with 10G switches and media converters/devices when trying to use lower jitter SFP+ modules. They just don't work, even if you try to 'force' 1G to your media converter. So in comes a 1G SFP switch to overcome that limitation. My preferred brand for modules is Finisar. And within the Finisar line, I can now utilize their SFP+ modules with DFB lasers for lower jitter. This switch has worked with all SFP and SFP+ modules that I've thrown at it. So I'm very impressed since this is all auto-negotiated by the switch.Now, what does lowered jitter do/mean? Well, I have a very high end audio streaming setup. With less jitter, the highs are not as harsh as they were with my 1G SFP modules and I love listening at high SPLs. The bass is now even more thunderous (I have current model Legacy Focus SE speakers that can really put out deep, tight bass). Like live concert thunderous. Smaller percussion, like chimes really stand out instead of sounding distant and muffled. Leading edges of acoustic guitar strings are cutting and sound so realistic... I could go on and on.Bottom line, you don't have to buy an 'audiophile' switch for thousands of dollars to get amazing sound if you know what you're doing. And that comes from trial and error with lots of research if IT isn't your profession.I haven't even watched a movie yet on my Zidoo UHD3000 because I've been enjoying music too much to bother with my media streamers. I suspect movie soundtracks will have the same kinds of impact.

I’m going to have to find a different product. Bought 2x 5-port 2.5GB switches for my home and they do start up. However I have 3Gbps fiber internet. When I connect with my desktop that has a 2.5Gbps NIC and attempt to download a large file or use my NAS that has 2x2.5Gbps NIC’s, the connection drops from the NAS and the internet connection disconnects: I have to unplug and plug in all hardware to fix the issue. It is really annoying to have to reset hardware every time I use my NAS or download a large file on my desktop. This product is not working right and is a complete waste of money!

Easy switch upgrade and works with both SFP+ cables and transceivers from Cisco. Unmanaged but a great price that gives me both 2.5 and 10G connectivity.

Geen configuratie; inpluggen en aan het werk.VLAN functie, al is het eigenlijk alleen zo dat de 2.5 poorten een route kennen naar de 10Gb uplink.Kleine punten van aandacht:Er zit alleen een opening aan de linkerkant om warmte af te voeren, beter zou zijn om het aan beide kanten te hebben.SMB3 MultiChannel werkt niet. Dat is wel een gemis moet ik zeggen.Feature request:SMB3 MC support :-)

Avevo bisogno di uno switch per uso domestico per estendere la mia rete cablata. Dopo aver erroneamente preso uno switch simile a questo ma PoE e dopo averci sbattuto la faccia perché nel mio caso non poteva funzionare, ho provato questo. E’ alimentato con un piccolo trasformatore classico (ovviamente fornito), quindi non è necessario che il vostro apparato di rete a monte (il router, lo switch, …) sia a sua volta PoE (Power over Ethernet) per alimentarlo. Non ho avuto la possibilità di provarlo “al contrario”, ovvero senza alimentatore e collegato ad un router PoE, non so dire se funziona ma in teoria non dovrebbe. Questo non è né un pregio né un difetto: semplicemente è fatto così e chi lo compra lo dovrebbe sapere.Mi fa sorridere la descrizione che dice “Plug & Play”, come se per qualche ragione esotica potesse non essere così.
