Easy to use, works well for cleaning out Toilet Water Tank

We're using this on a regular basis to clean our Dyson humidifier. The original is just way overpriced and this works just as good. It doesn't smell or anything and we may try it on the coffee maker next instead of vinegar.

A good portion of the 5 lbs is just air for weight. So that is why I am only giving this 4 stars vs 5. However the citric acid does a great job at cleaning the distillers. We use our distillers daily to fill our humidifiers. So it saves us a lot of trouble when cleaning them out as before we were using Lime-A-Way and that stuff stinks and is a pain to use and does not do nearly as good of a job as the citric acid does.

The citric acid was needed for my water system. It arrived promptly and in good condition for a reasonable price. I checked many sites offering the same product and found that this was the most reasonable price.

Works great to keep residue build up from building up in my water distiller. I add it directly to the water run and rarely have to clean them. The citric acid stays in the distiller because it is a solid so it doesn't affect the clean water at all.I use about a tablespoon and leave the left over water in the unit, adding the next water run on top of it. I can usually get 3-4 runs before I need to rinse out the unit and start over.I find using a count down timer helps. It takes my distiller just under 4 hours (distillers may vary) and that way they don't "burn down" and it saves the thermostat and "trip switch" It leaves about an inch of water so that I can reuse the citric acid. It's very cost effective this way. Yes, the water is heavier by the third or fourth run, but it doesn't affect the operation or quality of the clean water.

I have come to really appreciate citric acid and have found several uses for it.My favorite is adding it to my dishwasher cycle. It keeps everything so shiny!I also use it in my laundry, soap making and some recipes.
