Does it stand on its own?

The trone units can be mounted on a wall or free stand on a level floor. However, it is still best to use the 2 eyelet screw holes on the back of the trone to secure it to the wall for stability. As the trone is swung open, the weight of the contents may tip an unmounted unit.

Does it come with the equipment to mount it to the wall?

It does not. you need to get your own screws and anchors
