Why did they use carrageen in the capsules? It is a known carcinogen..

Carrageenan is *not* a known carcinogen. The worst that it will do to you is add dietary fiber to your day. Carrageenan is a polysaccharide thickener and gelator found in most algae. Since this product is derived from seaweed, it seems to me especially appropriate that carrageenan is the gelator used (and especially ironic that anyone choosing to take marine omega-3's is fearful of carrageenan--even fish eat carrageenan-filled algae, which is where THEY get their omega-3's from). Maybe someone would like to provide some links to research papers that demonstrate that it causes cancer?
