Reliable and Durable – Peace of Mind for Over 5 Years!
I’ve been using the Kryptonite New York Lock M18-WL U-lock for over 5 years, and it’s still going strong! This lock has been my go-to for keeping my bike safe in a variety of locations. The hardened steel shackle is incredibly tough, and I’ve never had any issues with tampering or damage, even in areas where bike theft is common. The double deadbolt mechanism and the high-security lock ensure that my bike stays secure no matter where I leave it.What I love about this lock is its durability. Despite the years of use, it still works as well as the day I bought it. The black/yellow color is a great deterrent, making it noticeable to would-be thieves. Yes, it’s on the heavier side, but that’s a small price to pay for the peace of mind it gives me knowing my bike is well-protected.If you’re looking for a long-lasting, reliable bike lock, I highly recommend the Kryptonite New York Lock M18-WL U-lock. It’s been an invaluable investment for me over the years.

Heavy, But a Serious Deterrent
I bought this lock after my last bike was stolen. I had been using just a cheap Halford's D lock to bind my front wheel and frame. A thief saw to it in about twenty minutes and was soon out and about on my bike. I was looking for something which I could carry with me, but which was very high security.First of all, I have had no problems with theft. Thieves seem to know how hard it is to break a Krytonite New York, because having spoken to other cyclists, they agree that there are rarely signs of applied force on their locks. Someone has tried to cut into mine, and got maybe three millimeters in before giving up. I feel completely confident leaving my bike locked up all day using just this and a cheap mini-lock on a busy street in the centre of London. It's easy to use, too. The bracket fits into the frame of the lock either way around, so you never have to fuss when you're in a hurry to hit the road on a cold night, and the key fits into the lock both ways too, in case you're stupid or have stubby fingers (both of which are true of me). The lock comes with three keys, the main one of which has a bright blue light attached. I've never really had any use for the light, and it's exceptionally blue, but it's quite strong for a little bulb, so if you're trying to see where your lock is in a dark alley, I can imagine it would be of help.I cycle to work every day, and back, with a backpack containing a laptop, charger, two or three books, a light mini-lock and this monster. It's a heavy pack, but I am not considering replacing the lock. I don't mind carrying it. I'm 6'0", male and in good shape, but I can imagine that for someone else, that kind of load would be a burden. If you're worried about the lock's weight, see if you can handle one before buying, because it's exceptionally heavy.

Chunky, heavy & does the job
Having had 2 bikes stolen (mine + my son's) from a busy town centre shopping area when locked with a "light" cable lock in broad daylight. I decided that it was better late than never and not wanting the replacement bikes to go the same way I decided to look at the options. This lock has good reviews and a high security rating. It is very heavy and although I believe that if a thief really wants your bike they will find a way to take it, this is about the best deterrent you can buy & the yellow end bar makes it clear the bike is locked securely. I also use a thick Kryptonite cable to secure the wheels and then clamp the frame to an immovable object. So far I am very happy , any "casual" thief will look elsewhere, buying the best means there will be other easier options for the light fingered.

Great lock, super heavy
Great lock, feels sturdy and would certainly deter any potential thieves. Only problem is how heavy it is, so carrying it along with a backpack, laptop etc is tough. Even tougher to find a solution to attach it to the bike! Long enough to lock 2 bikes to a pole, which is handy! Overall, happy with it!

Best lock on the block
Had my eye on this lock for so time in view of my wife and I expecting delivery of our electric bikes and always looking for the best price. Then earlier in the week, Amazon suddenly offers it for just £59.99, amazing what a bargain for this piece of engineering.Immediately ordered two. Arrived by click and collect in just four days and on opening the box was quite intimidated by the size of them. In the flesh they are larger than the illustration on the website. Be careful not to strain your wrist. 😀Curious to check the weight and surprised to discover only 2.7 kg and not the 5 kg mentioned in a number of reviews. The Kryptonite website states 2.5 kg. Yes it is too heavy for the Lycra clad enthusiasts with bikes able to lift with one finger. The overall size will allow us to lock each bike either side of a town centre or busy car park designated cycle post. In effect, the two locks will span both bike frames. A double whammy that most certainly will deter any dumb brain thief from attempting to steal our large investment. Will take advantage of the Kryptonite initial one year anti-theft offer which will replace each bike up to the value of £2,500 if the lock fails to prevent theft subject to terms and conditions. Thereafter will probably need to look at insurance? So don't be put off by it's weight as you commute or venture because it's dimensions are born to instill confidence that your bike will always be there on your return. Hail to the TITAN!.

Heavy and expensive but great peace of mind!
Quite expensive but feels really sturdy and since we are hoping to keep our bicycles outside overnight it felt rather necessary. Their ATPO is definitely a feature that persuaded me, we’ll see how it works if I actually have to use it. Heavy lock but if you have a basket or a rear rack you can definitely carry it that way. I liked that it is a little longer because it allows for more options if you can’t find a proper bike stand.
