I was pleased with this product. My grandson loves penguins and this looks nice on his nightstand by his bed. He absolutely loved it!

Pros: These types of toys have been around for years and are always fun to play with. This is certainly well constructed as it does not leak whatsoever. I find it great to mess with when I need to take a break or distract myself from my homework. Everyone who comes to my house likes to play with it too. It just seems like one of those things that are soothing to look at.Cons: Not all penguins are unsinkable! As you see in the photos, one of the penguins is half submerged. It was like that when I received it and it's never changed. Thus, the 1-star deduction. Perhaps mine was a random flaw?Nevertheless, I still like it and so does everyone else. With that said, I'd still recommend this.

After getting stuck on hold in yet another corporate medicine phone tree for over 35 minutes and held captive by a recorded fake perky male voice loop relentlessly exhorting me to have a prostate examination and experience “advanced cutting edge diagnostic and treatment options,” I nearly lost my voice from uselessly reaming out both the absent and anonymous bozo I imagined in my head to be the individual who came up with the incredibly stupid, not to mention tacky and insulting idea of trying to use a phone tree voice advertising loop to try to hawk prostrate medical services to middle aged women.In order to distract myself and save my sanity while in phone tree hell waiting to schedule an appointment. It was serendipity that a few days later I discovered these adorable surfing penguins for sale on amazon. I just love watching the cute little guys. They’re a fantastic mode of distraction from annoying corporate “customer service” phone tree recordings that never shut up. I am amazed at how much relief from stress and irritation I have when I can wile the time away with my new toy. If you spend a lot of time on hold, I highly recommend looking into buying these surfing penguins or something similar. They can making your like and blood pressure so much better.

I teach K-5th Grade and even have some 6-8th grade students who stop in to see me (or my relaxing toys). This one is a favorite! It is small and has a bit of weight to it. It is made of plastic and filled with... blue stuff! The kids will rock this back and forth (some not so gentle) and then sit it down and just watch the bobbing of the penguins until it comes to an almost stop before picking it up again. Sometimes they will sit and watch this several times, before finally either talking or going back to class. I also have to admit, there are moments that I too, pick it up and just watch the liquid take the penguins for a ride before settling to a stop.No noise-- just movement.It comes with two sticky pads to place on the bottom of the item, however, I did not apply them. With little ones.... they will just pick it off and then the item will be lop-sided!Great item & a Super Favorite in the Classroom!

My kids and I all love this toy! It is so fun and entertaining to watch. It inspires a lot of laughs and definitely qualifies as a stress reliever. I knew I would like this toy when I ordered it, but I actually love it. I am so glad I decided to get it.It arrived encased by bubble wrap and placed inside a plain box. The packaging is rather simple, but it was effective in protecting the toy. The toy appears to be rather sturdy and well made. The only thing I didn't like about it was the price. I noticed the price went down a bit since I ordered it. The price that it is now seems to be more reasonable. I am glad I ordered this toy and look forward to enjoying it for many years.I don't yet know how well it will hold up over time, since I just received it, but I don't anticipate any problems. I will update this review if I obtain more insightful information in the future.

I've always wanted one of these. It's 6" X 2" X 2" so it's not that big. The colors are great and the manufacturing seems really good. The penguins are nicely proportioned to the inside.I tried to just enjoy it for the toy it's meant to be but I can't help thinking about two penguins lost at sea with no ice in sight. The description in the ad says if this gets too cold the oil (blue bottom layer) will get solid. I've never tried this! It's in the fridge now because I can't help but fiddle with things.This comes with two squares of double-sided tape. This would have to go on something that rocks to make that useful but the ad warns against putting this in direct sun so sticking it to my dashboard is out of the question. It's fun. There are plenty of alternatives at similar price points. If you like penguins and rectangular slices of ocean, this is a good one.
