Rapid Molecular Caviar Maker Kit

Great little gadget, with plenty of the reagents you need to make lots of little balls of things.Took some practice to get it to work right, but I was really satisfied with how my food turned out.We made spherical guacamole for a guacamole contest, and it was a hit!It's hard to clean, and if you don't use it exactly right it's really frustrating.Of note, the plastic "tray" part it comes with is for more than just protecting the little pipettes.Fill the tray itself with a fairly generous amount of the liquid to be spherified, and set the pipettes down into the tray until it's flush.Pull the syringe up until the pipettes draw liquid very close to the top of the pipes.Make sure every single pipette has a fairly large amount of liquid in it, because otherwise when you go to extrude the spheres, you'll have no air pressure when you squeeze the syringe.To clean it, do it the way a bartender cleans glasses:First, shake it vigorously in a sink full of soapy water, then shake it again in a sink full of just water.Repeat a few times until it's clean, carefully let the water drip out the bottom to dry. It takes a while.

It's a decent caviar maker...once you realize you're using it wrong. To use correctly- Mix ingredients to spec. When it comes time to use the caviar maker fill the bottom tray of the caviar maker with your gelled solution. Insert the syringe into the hose connected to the maker and full depress the plunger. Place the caviar maker face down in the gel. Slowly draw the plunger up until it stops. Place caviar maker over top of the citrate solution and slowly push down on the plunger.Follow this and you won't have a bad clean up process either.

It's fun to make and watch the caviar form. But keep in mind that the multi droplets are rather small. Literally the size of caviar.

I love experimenting and this seems to be a good product. I said "seems" because I have only used it twice and I am the one who made the mistake of not taking note of the how much each ingredients (powder) should be put in my mixture. I am still on the experimental stage of molecular gastronomy but I am enjoying all the gadgets I can lay my hands on. Thank you.

Spent a lot of time trying to clean this thing, realized it was impossible one- use product and had to throw it out.

The kit works but the dropper is over priced junk. The way it’s designed makes it difficult to impossible to clean. Buyer beware as they don’t accept returns.

great for making caviar fast but super hard to clean and hard to get the all of the pipettes to drip at the same time. the pipettes have to be perfectly level ( good luck holding it)
