Let me start by saying I am not someone who needs a super duper accurate scale, I'm just someone measuring out bulk supplement powders. I did not use or test the RS232 function.That said, I've been really impressed with this scale. It was packed really nicely to avoid damage in shipment, and was easy to setup and use. The scale seems really precise, with repeated measurements coming up the same.

This precision digital scale comes assembled other than the weighing pan you simply set in place. The instruction booklet is fairly clear and the touchpad buttons are straightforward. It has a rectangular base with 3 feet. There are 2 adjustable plastic feet in the back and a single front central stationary foot. It can be leveled but does tip with a moderate amount of pressure if you press downwards on either side towards the front. The protective glass hood with 3 sliding doors cannot be removed, which I find to be inconvenient. There’s a door on each side and the top. The front and back are solid glass. The doors slide open from the front towards the back and don’t come off either. It’s a little awkward getting my hands in there and takes some getting used to. Unfortunately the doors wiggle and I had trouble with both side doors sticking in the open position. That’s the biggest problem with the design, as I can foresee the glass getting broken trying to unjam it. There’s also a leveling bubble that sticks up inside the bottom that you need to wipe around if cleaning it off. I had no trouble calibrating the scale with the included 500g weight. The weighing and counting functions work as intended. The touchpad controls work smoothly and it’s easy to press the buttons. There’s a detachable power cord you plug into the back which is a plus if the cord gets damaged. You can hook it up to a compatible RS232C printer but I was not able to test this capability. There’s a switch on the back that looks like an on/off switch but doesn’t seem to work. There’s an on/off button on the touchpad though. Especially at this price point, this isn’t an item I’d purchase again.

I’m still getting the hang of using the LACHOI Lab Scale 500g×1mg, but I’m already impressed with its performance. This is a 500g or 1 pound or less lab-looking scale.Out of the box, it's assembled, so you only need to put the platform plate on. This also comes with a 500g weight. My reading from this included weight was 500.403g. I took another scale, and this same weight came in at 500.5g. So, I'm a little unsure which scale is off or the weight is off.There are three feet on the bottom: one in the center front and two near the back corners. The rear legs both twist to adjust up and down if you need to level it. I've tried to screw one in and one also out, but the bubble didn't even get past the first surrounding black circle. I'm unsure how much reading could change if this was off-level, but this scale seems very forgiving. Also note the rear feet have point on the bottom that did leave an impression on my desk mat, as shown in the picture.You can open either side or the top, but the front and back glass are fixed. The glass cage also is fixed to the scale.There is an RS-232 port on the back, but I think USB would be better suited for more applications.I think this is a good scale and will work for my purposes, and it looks professional too.

Ive been using this to measure the weight of my jewelry and this thing has been great! Very high quality. Measurements are very accurate. It's made of premium material and can see it lasting a long time. Can connect to the computer but I haven't used that yet. Other than that, works great!
