Primus Campfire Cookset

Sure cheaper items exist. You end up replacing them again and again. This set is true quality. The materials and design are excellent. The handles are robust, yet light, folding back and click into place when in use.Stacking into a robust bag, they carry with easy, though I use mine in our motorhome. The lids are superb and an essential piece of the kit if low gas etc. The leather tag handles are useful. Actually, every item or feature has at least one use. Very happy with purchase.

Did quite a bit of research into camping pots and pans before committing to this set. I wanted something durable, built to last and definitely nothing with non-stock coating as a) it wears off/scratches and the pans become useless and b) these coatings can contain some pretty dreadful things that I definitely don't want my family ingesting. That left me looking for a durable stainless steel set and I am please to say that the research paid off. This is a fantastic set that meets my family's needs perfectly.Two decent sized saucepans (both with lids) and a good sized frying pan all stack into each other and then fit into a canvas storage bag with a drawstring. They have handles/lids that fold/tuck away when stored, but that firmly clip into place when needed. The lids have a leather tab on them which you can use to avoid touching the hot metal handle if you prefer (which I think is a brilliant feature).They aren't the lightest - we car camp (drive to campsites) so this isn't an issue for us, but if you're backpacking, this set probably won't be for you. The weight makes them feel more sturdy/durable, in my opinion. The combo of 2 different sized pans and a frying pan means that this set is super versatile - we are yet to find a dish that we can't cook using this combo.I honestly couldn't be happier with this purchase and would highly recommend to other families who car camp. If you're on the fence about buying this set, just order it and see for yourself - you can always return it if it's not what you want, but I doubt it won't be! I will be looking to Primus for other camping kit in the future.

Over all good quality materials used, but i felt the execution was poor on finished items, primus signs not square to pan/handle and one of the tabs was poorly fitted, shame as its all there(nearly) materials/design! All good just lacking a bit on the manufacture....

Before i start, I just want to say I am a Primus fan. On this occasion though I really feel they could have done better.First things first, I have no idea why they didn't make the large pan lid also fit the frying pan, you could have then used it to stop spitting when frying.This brings me onto the subject of the frying pan. It is probably the worst I have ever used. I have no idea what kind of steel they have used but no matter how many times I have tried it will not season. The minute you bring the temperature up it just burns. If you keep the temperature low then everything just sticks to it. The frying pan is pretty much useless.The saucepans are good, but not amazing, so to me the whole set is not good value at nearly 80 pounds hence the low star rating.

Reasonable quality when compared to the average pile of tr@sh available on Amazon. Heavy saucepans, they work.

I have given this a 5* rating because it is an excellent piece of equipment it arrived in excellent condition and its lovely also it was the XL size. It is being returned though because the XL size still doesn't mean it was as big as I thought for me. That doesn't change the fact that this item is really good and would be perfect for other people.
