WONDERFUL sound quality and weight
I played viola for 9 years and decided to get back into playing casually when I noticed my high school bows were absolute toast and needed replacing. I have no need to have “the best of the best” right now so I read many bow reviews carefully before landing on this one. WOW, what an excellent bow! I did not expect any semblance of sound quality but once it was rosined up it made contact with the strings and just SINGS. The weight is nice, not too tight or light like a carbon fiber bow would be. I am extremely happy with my purchase. Straight as an arrow, FULLY haired, frog is excellent quality, girl is good. I expected the mother of pearl to be “fake” at this price point, but it is real. The bow came well packaged and arrived safely.

Craftsmanship On Wood Bow
This bow has been made really well. The balance and feel is great. I am flabbergasted at a beautiful bow at this more than reasonable price!

Really looks and acts like synthetic hair
The stick is straight, and the screw, frog, and tip all look proper and are aligned and seem quality for the price. My complaint is with the hairs, which are shiny, feel synthetic, and do not even grip the rosin, which I tried with several different cakes and for quite a while. I’m an experienced cellist with 4 bows and know how to rosin a bow. Have to return this.

It works
It’s not a top of the line bow and does lose quite a few hairs but once you resin it enough it works great. Not the best quality but it does work. Very dry when you first receive it so plan on putting resin on each section 20 - 30 times prior to using it.
