I really like this phone mount. It's made specifically for the A3. I have a 2015 A3 and it fits perfectly. It grabs my pixel 8 with phone case snuggly. It doesn't block the MMI and I can still access the buttons underneath. You DO NOT need to remove the entire vent to install this. Just pull the vent out just enough to place the bracket in and done.

I have spent years trying to find the perfect car phone mount &, in the end, was always dissatisfied for one reason or another...but no more! I now have an iPhone 15 Plus Max that I keep in the thick, zippered leather wallet case--which, IMHO, is a challenge when it comes to finding the right car phone mount. Taking the phone out of the case is not an option. This car mount arrived quickly but I was unable to attach it to the vents myself...but, in all fairness, this was probably me and not the product! So, I stopped by the Audi dealer and the repair guy put it on for me in only a few minutes...& for no charge! Once installed, the mount works perfectly with my phone & case. Holds my phone & case securely and so easy to take on & off. Also, perfect height & close to charging cable. Excellent purchase after years of struggling to find the perfect car phone mount!

Fits perfectly, even exchanged the magnet connected to the ball from a different product and it fits just as well.

With its position, a phone (even a standard iPhone 12, not a bigger Max, with the holder’s bottom ledge lowered as much as it can) can block part of the MMI screen. If you’re taller, have your seat high, or you angle your phone a bit oddly, you may be able to position it so it’s not blocking anything. If you have it in landscape orientation, it’s fine. I angled mine slightly down (i.e. top edge towards me), and it juuuust clears the MMI screen.Base feels very solid and stable. Fit an 8V A3 perfectly, which was nice since my old phone mount didn’t fit the round vents well. Super easy install.Phone holder part works well, securely holding my iPhone 12 with a basic case + finger loop thingy that adds about 1/8" to the thickness. Mine didn’t have any branding on it. I have another one I like more though, and was able to swap it on to the base since the ball size was identical.

This has an easy installation and is as described. It's a great investment and if works perfectly. Very happy with this purchase.

I got this for my 2015 A3. Works perfect. Only thing was for the installation I wasn’t able to pull the vents out, but I managed to kind of slide it in there.

Easy to install, doesn't block airflow, adjustable, etc...
