Works amazing if used corrrctly
I think I've ordered it 6 times now. It really is very effective if you do it right. Some tips:- use it as soon as the canker appears, even if it's very small. Just break the tablet in half and use half. Don't give the sore a chance to get big. It will stop the canker in its tracks in 1-3 days.- you need to dry the sore very thoroughly first- press it into the sore with moderate pressure for at least 20 seconds-use the tip of your fingernail to press it, or else it will stick to your finger- do this before bedtime every day for 1 to 3 daysApplying before bed is most effective as it keeps it covered the longest when you're not eating or drinking. Also when you sleep, you dry your mouth out which would normally allow the canker to expand very rapidly.Best of luck to all with this problem

I tried it out of desperation
I gave this item a try out of desperation. Those of us afflicted with canker sores, especially in odd locations inside the mouth, know the unrelenting suffering that comes with a flare up. After reading all the reviews about this item and having nothing left in the house except a salt and water rinse option, I decided to try ONE tablet, just to see if it would help.It was really difficult to affix to the sore - the tablet is bulky and the sore was not in a flat location. Just as I got the pill stuck to the sore, it kind of also stuck to my finger (yes I followed the instructions about how to apply) and pulled slightly away from the sore which caused a lot of pain. The tablet sat in the spot for about 35 minutes then it started to gel and congeal. It didn't feel so bad at that point, just kind of bulky. I sensed the slight menthol taste but it wasn't overwhelming. About two hours later it had expanded significantly and became a giant-sized slime blob. It eventually started to stick to a few nearby teeth. That wasn't the problem so much as once it started to stick elsewhere it tugged away from where it was supposed to be so there was kind of a ripping feeling away from the sore and of course more pain. It's a very difficult thing to manipulate and if you attempt to, be prepared with tissues and swabs and lots of uncontrollable drooling.Like another reviewer, I attempted to "trim" the outer parameter of the blob and gently used a toothpick on the outside area of the sore. Unfortunately, what remained of the sticky blob just kept expanding in its place. I decided to just leave it be and let it run its course as it seemed way too risky to remove it. In the end, it didn't contribute to healing the sore but it did cover it up for a few hours.I have yet to find a good OTC product that works to alleviate the pain, as well as the canker sore itself. Most, like this, are very expensive and yield mixed results at best.

Works great for healing, takes practice to apply
This is an amazing product. I had a sore in a spot that would my teeth would rub up against and cause healing to be very slow. These cut down what would be probably close to another week of healing time down to one day. They burn slightly when applied, but the burn is no greater than the sore being exposed to air or food, so well worth it.The adhesion is finicky, though. They seem to require a pretty specific amount of moisture to start sticking, unfortunately, too dry or too wet and the reaction doesn’t start properly. Similarly, if you take the gel out to replace it with a new tablet, you can’t get the new tablet to stick until the sore surface is perfectly clean of the gel of the last tablet. So be prepared to have to take a Q-tip to the sore for application. Not very fun.

I’m sure it would work in certain applications
I bought this to try out of curiosity. I have a canker sore on my upper gum line. I tried breaking the pat in half as that’s what the instructions say if it’s in a crease. Initially it stuck pretty good and it didn’t burn at all. After leaving it on for about 10 minutes I noticed it didn’t stick to my gum but was now adhered to my inner lip. I see why they say not to take it off because that thing was stuck! I think this product would work good for anywhere in the mouth except the actual gum line. I get canker sores enough that I’m sure I’ll give it another chance.
