What are the dimensions of the mounting plate, and how far does it extended into the duct? this is for the haven plus. a dimensions diagram would work

Hi Jay - Thanks for the question. The mounting plate for the Haven Plus is 6 ½” X 6 ½” and the unit extends into the duct work 15”. If you need to install Haven Plus into duct board, then we also include a duct board mounting plate that installs first into the duct board before the mounting plate. The duct board mounting plate is 8 ½ x 8 ½.

Does this produce a smell? i am purchasing this to get rid of odors in my hvac. i don't want to replace my current odors with new odors from this.

Hello, Henry I am glad that you are interested in our Haven Plus. This system is great for helping with odors as it has the carbon filter working along with the UV light. Some customers state smelling a very mild odor for a couple of days after first installing this unit, that is due to the UV light killing odor causing bacteria within your duct work. The mild smell does not last long and most of the time customers do not report experiencing that mild smell.

How often do you need to clean the carbon filters or wipe down the metal plates? If you dont need to clean them, how are they trapping contaminates?

Hi Amber. Great question. The carbon filters will only need to be cleaned if they have a build up on them. The carbon filters can be cleaned using a mild soap and water solution. The pro cell in the unit should not need to be cleaned, but if there is a build up on them, we would recommend rinsing them off with water and wiping them off with a cloth.

The bulb that came with my unit has a couple little things loose inside it. Is that normal?

Thanks Brad for the question. The UVC lights are gas-discharge lamps that use an electric arc to produce bright and long-lasting light. It is common to see small particles within the new UVC light. The tube will get hot and vaporize the small particles.
