Good product
My dog loves it and it helps with his nails a little bit. It helps keep him entertained. I used it for his meal in the morning so he has to scratch it quite a bit since we put half a cup of food in it. (Using just treats doesn’t work as we’d have to use a lot).It does slide on the floor and the suctions cups that were provided didn’t work, but I used command strips on the floor and it now holds its place.

AI Response: Great product—does exactly what it should!I was really happy with this item. It worked just as expected right out of the box—no issues at all. Solid quality and reliable performance. I’d definitely buy it again and recommend it to anyone looking for something like this. Great value for the price! My Response: Great item, my dog actually was able to figure it out right away. Seems to smooth his front nails witch is nice. I would buy again.

Not for small breed dogs
Purchased this item for our 20 pound Maltese/Yorkie mix who hates to have her nails trimmed. This item is advertised to target nail filing and also as a puzzle feeder. Set up was quick and easy only taking a few seconds to assemble. Included an instruction manual that gave advice on how to walk your dog through the steps required to retrieve the food. Our dog caught on very quickly and was using independently within 24 hours. Works great as a feeder puzzle and mental stimulus for the dog, I would rate as a 5! However, there is some down sides to this feeder's use as a nail file. The coarse paper really does file down the nails but our dog only uses 1 of it's front paws to do so.... only 1 out of 4 paws gets trimmed. Also the nail files only on one side leaving her nails misshapen. (This is in no way the manufacturers fault). Where I would rate the product lower is with its quality. The suction cups do not stick to the floor so the dog pushes and shoves the feeder throughout the room during feedings. Also our 9 pound Yorkie attempted to use the feeder and his tiny nail got pinched in the trap door causing pain and now fear of the feeder. I would suggest a size recommendation with this product to not be used on small breed dogs and to improve the suction cups on the bottom.

Dogs don’t use.
My three dogs are all very good motivated and love great puzzles. The largest baby, a 20lb Pekingese Shih Tzu mix, acts like I’m cutting off a paw every time I trim his nails, so I thought this would be a great help. I couldn’t have been more wrong. First off this is only good for dry treats, and they have to be very small. I tried using cat food, but none of them were interested, and considering the amount of treat released, it was way too expensive to use training treats. The largest problem I had was that my dog knows where the treats come out, and was constantly pawing at the doors versus pushing down on the top to get the treats to come out, which completely negates the purpose of the tool. Despite several months of trying to train my pups I gave up. It held up to minor use, but now sits on my shelf collecting dust. I imagine it will head to Goodwill soon.

Well worth it
It’s been a year and we still love this. I have a GSP/Lab mix who really hated having her nails done when she came to us. This worked so well that we’ve kept it as part of routine even though we’ve worked on desensitizing her to nail clipping. I typically give her 1/3 cup of leftover cold ground beef. This keeps her occupied and tends to file down both sets of front nails. Sometimes I need to trim up her non-dominate paw if it’s too easy.

Get this asap!!
The media could not be loaded. I am EXTREMELY impressed with this, it took my dog a little bit to figure out, but following the steps they provided he got it! It was so exciting to see him get it! The first thing I noticed when I received this was how high quality it was, it’s made with thick not easily broken plastic, also super impressed with the self healing scratch pad, I’ve definitely noticed when I go to feed him again his scratches are gone. It took my dog 3 vet techs to hold down to clip his nails (and he’s only 3.5 months 😅) and I tried the electric grinding nail file, he hatedddd that, but this is so fun for him, I also love the fact that it takes brain power so it leaves him worn out after too! I was a little worried about him scratching his paw pads, they said that dogs naturally arch the paw, and he did, he only uses his nails, so that was a relief! You literally can not go wrong with this product I’m so glad I got it and highly recommend!!

You have to be willing to wash it by hand every time
It’s a brilliant idea except for the cleaning part. It gets really dirty from the mix of food + dog saliva and it’s hard/unpractical to wash by hand. I ended up putting it on the top drawer of the dishwasher in a low temperature but it damage the translucent plastic cover, and now there’s no way to use it 🥲

Effective, but difficult to clean.
My dog who is a reluctant learner figured it out pretty quickly and it is helping her nails. My only criticism of it is it's not designed to come apart for cleaning. I understand that it can be wiped clean with a cloth but there's many areas that is very challenging and would benefit from soap and water.
