I have to preface this review by saying that I have a background in electrical/electronic engineering, so I am not your typical DIYer; however, with a bit of Internet searching for videos, practically anyone can use these.Firstly, why did I buy these and not a smart bulb? Two reasons:(1) I did not want to spend a lot of money on a smart LED bulb only to throw it away in a few years when it fails, plus I have some really cheap LED bulbs fitted that work just fine; and(2) I wanted something that just worked with my router and did not need a hub.Second, why these in particular? Because they are really cheap, small enough to hide away in a light fitting and work really reliably. These need both live and neutral feeds, so require fitting at the ceiling rose; you can buy ones that just need live and 'steal' a neutral feed through the bulb that can be fitted at the switch, but they are more expensive and there is no room to conceal them behind a UK light switch. I have attached three photos to show you how I have concealed mine:(1) I bought some large rose covers to hide the switch for standard light fittings;(2) I hid the switch in the little junction box for my LED floodlights; and(3) for my new, low-profile LED kitchen strip light that fits flush to the ceiling, I just cut a recess into the ceiling to tuck the switch into which is then concealed when the strip light is fitted.The live and switched-live feed to your wall switch connect to the two switch terminals on this WiFi switch; that means you have a no/low voltage switch circuit. Using the app, you can programme the wall switch to either toggle the light on and off regardless of which position the switch is in, or sync it so that the light obeys the normal 'up is off' 'down is on'. Whichever way you programme it, your digital assistant of choice can always override it when you give voice commands to switch on or off. I use Alexa for everything, and I have a routine to turn my landing light on at dusk and off at dawn for security when I am away.Finally, these work very reliably [so far] and do not need a very strong WiFi connection to do so. I am a very happy customer.

Lovely product for adding wifi capability to anything. Small enough to be house in a light fitting. And what you probbably didnt know, is that they can be used on DC wiring as well, so if you already have some low voltage lighting strips and you dont want to replace them, you can simply wire them into the DC side. Mine are working perfectly at 12V. Make sure you follow the diagram. And best of all, they dont need a dodgy app to control them, easily plugs into smart life

Great value, appear to be well made and decent quality, easy to configure, work immediately with Alexa, respond rapidly to Alexa commands. Pleasantly surprised by these little doohickeys.You need a neutral wire so these are no good to replace most light switches because they are usually a single switched live wire and the neutral will only be available at the light socket, but not the switch panel. You can therefore install this at the light socket of course but that is likely to be less straightforward.--I post honest reviews, only of products I've bought, or have experience of, and only to help other buyers. If I have had a problem I'll explain what was done to address it. I don't receive any kind of reward for any of my reviews.

These are great for smart enabling your lighting around your house - but only if you're competent at electrical wiring.Its suggested that you could fit them in behind light switches but they're 2cm deep so there's no way they'll fit into an existing wall box in a solid wall...However if you've anything you want to smart enable where you have a Live and Neutral input and require a Switched Live output, then these will do the job great - and if you can get to the wiring junction boxes of your house lighting in the ceiling or loft, then maybe these are useful in that situation.I've fitted them in my outside lights (or alongside in a weatherproof box) connecting the switched live to the swithched-output of the PIR and now I can turn all my outside lights on via alexa.Its great for driving home at night and even before I get anywhere near the house, I can use my phone and tell Alexa to turn on the driveway lights so that I can see when I'm trying to park...I've also used one to Alexa-enable my garage door opener. You can buy proper smart garage door openers, but I just used one of these to then trigger a separate 240v relay which then triggered the door opening contacts on my door motor.If you're a competent electrician then these are a great way of smart enabling things around your house but they';re not plug-and-play so if you're not competent electrically, seek out something else...

Great while it worked, but after 3 months it stopped switching. Unit was still alive, on wifi, etc. but the output voltage was only about 4 volts.

I love that I was able to flash the BK7321N chip with OpenBeken very easily. So no cloud requirement (Tuya SmartLife App) and no worry about data privacy or if the internet goes down.Important note if you plan to flash this:1) You break it, your fault and if you attempt this, you obviously lose all warranty, support, etc.2) This is thankfully not glued / sonic-welded. Has clips that are easy enough to break. So it may not be as pretty after you open it.3) You cannot replace the chip, as it's built into the motherboard. Ensure to use the the correct pins to flash.For non-HomeAssistant users / People who just want to install it:This was a breeze to get working. It's compatible with Tuya and SmartLife apps and both picked up immediately.All features within the apps work well and 99% of people would be happy with this.

Good wifi switch reasonably easy to set up.
