This pump, tubing and air stone set is terrific! Works GREAT!
I wanted an air pump and air stones for my pond.My pond consists of a partially buried 350 gallon stock tank, with a 20 gallon lined whiskey barrel waterfall, and a 55 gallon bio-filter.I mounted the air pump up high under my elevated deck, which is behind my pond. I made a shelf for the pump, drilled holes in that shelf for the electrical cord and tubing to route downwards. I also drilled additional holes under the pump for added ventilation. I placed a plastic shoe storage box upside down over the pump. I used four screws as "legs" to give the pump an added gap for ventilation while still giving it optimum protection from the elements. The hoses that are included are very nice quality. I ran these two hoses inside of 1/2" drip irrigation line and routed that parallel to the intake and outlet pipes for the bio-filter and buried all of the pipes. Running the air hoses inside of the drip irrigation line keeps the air hoses from getting pinched. For my specific need I then attached this drip irrigation line to a barbed fitting and that attached to 1/2" PVC pipe. I ran that pipe through the side of the stock tank through a 1/2" uniseal. The result is that the tubing is nice and safe inside of the drip irrigation line. It is buried. It is all HIDDEN.The pump is pretty quiet. It's not noticeable where I have it placed up under my deck. It's about 6 feet above the ground. The waterfall and my other water feature in the yard drown out any air pump sound. The pump puts out a decent amount of bubbles. My stock tank pond is two feet deep and the air stones are resting on the bottom. It's a good amount of aeration for this size of pond.I don't think that I would be impressed with this pump for a larger pond. This is really a large aquarium air pump. It's not going to do much for a large pond. For my purposes, which is about 375-400 gallons of total water volume, it is a perfect pump.If you have a BIG pond, you probably would be disappointed in this pump's performance. I doubt that it would produce much air if the air stones were in water more than two feet deep.Oh yeah, I thought I should mention that I ran this pump and air stones as a test BEFORE I installed it. There is NO difference in airflow after I installed it in the drip irrigation line and buried it. I thought some of you might think the performance was affected by my installation. It was not affected at all.To sum up: I am happy. I have a small pond. If you have a pond of 600+ gallons you would probably want to go with a more powerful set up. If your pond is in the thousands of gallons range then this pump would be very inadequate.I am 100% satisfied with this pump for MY size pond. When the pump dies I might replace it with this same one. We shall see. So far, so good...

Winter ice prevention
Ran in all winter and it worked great. Fairly quiet and I kept it outside and covered. Kept pond from icing over except when it was consistently below 20* F and sometimes 10*F. Saved money not running heater. My fish didn’t seem to like it but I’m only speculating that.

It worked great for us!
The media could not be loaded. I live in Texas and we rarely get snow, ice, etc…, but we did last week. I was afraid my pond would freeze over and kill my fish. My pond pump was making a noise like it needed water but I couldn’t because all the hoses were disconnected. I bought this aerator to keep the water bubbling just in case. It was so easy to install! It functions well and super durable as you see in the video! The cords are long so I was able to put the aerator pump inside an outdoor storage bin, which worked well. The power cord could be just a bit longer, but I added an extension cord to plug it into an outside wall. All in all, a good purchase!

Works in deeper areas, needs weights, weather coverage
My pond is deep, it's actually my old swimming pool. I ordered this aerator as it said it would work in deeper waters, something I found others would not do. It has no problem being 5' down.Problem is that the aerator discs, which have to be thrown into my established pond, always land air side down. I use various yard tools to try to flip them over but when I do, they won't stay that way. The bubbles cause them to then stand on their side. I gave up trying and now tie them to bricks so they'll land air side up.The air tubes also float. If you're building a new pond from scratch and can get in and bury these cords under rocks you'll be ok. But in an already established pond, expect to see floating tubes. It ruins the look of everything. I guess the manufacturer never considered that either. I had to tie rocks to mine to keep them submersed. Here's where they lose a point...they claim you have to keep the motor part indoors. Does anyone other than me see the ludicrousness of a pump, designed for outdoor ponds, that has to be indoors? With two air tubes leaving the pump, how are you suppose to close your door/window after placing the pump indoors? What in the world was this manufacturer thinking????The electrical cord from the pump is the basic 5 or 6' and then there is two 25' of air tubes. My pond is in my backyard, the only door I could place this inside is a set of sliders into my living room, which of course, then won't close due to the two air tubes. The pump makes a noticeable hum that I am uncertain I want to hear...especially if it was inside in my house. I don't like the hum even outside least wise in my living room. Time will tell if I get use to it or it drives me up the wall. So, like many others, I am forced to put the pump outside and then find some sort of contraption to keep it away from the elements. So, all in all, it works. It works in deep water. It is not aesthetically pleasing in established ponds as the tubes float. It will require you find someway to protect the pump from the elements. It is not silent.Manufacturer....put a waterproof housing on it so it can stay outside and include something like plant weights to enable you to keep the tubes off the surface of the pond. How hard would that be????Edit....the humming noise I heard turned out to be some issue with the pump. I discovered this by accident when turning it over one day and realized that if I held it a certain way it was totally quiet. I contacted the manufacturer and they sent me a new piece. I have not installed it yet so I can't tell you if it was difficult or hard, but I am keeping the pump upside down to shut it up.edit--it's now been over a year since buying two sets of these. The first set gave me problems from day one with a loud hum that I did not realize was not normal, the second set was quiet. A year later the first set stopped working entirely. I contacted the manufacturer about my 3 year warranty and had no problems making a claim. You must send back the broken unit and it does take a few weeks. I was afraid my fish would die in the interim so purchased a third set of these to hold me. I have had no problem with second or third unit so first one seems to have just been a fluke. Manufacturer sent me a replacement with no issues.I have also run large hardware nuts through the tubing to sink it so it's not so ugly and distracting to see hoses floating. I had to put on a nut, make a large knot in the tubing to keep the nut where I wanted but not a tight knot to block the air, then repeat the rest of the tubing. By laying two nuts near the aerator piece I can now keep them flat on the bottom.
