Faber-Castell Black Edition Colour Pencils, Cardboard Wallet of 100

I cannot say enough good things about these! I recently discovered my love for colored pencils and as a result, i have been testing out all sorts of brands, expensive and budget, and out of all the 13 brands that ivr tried thus far, this set might be my favorite! The colors included in this set are well rounded and unique and they lay down beautifully and are super bold/bright. I think i like the way these lay down the best so far out of all that ive tried, they arent too soft but they arent hard either nor scratchy or anything like that. They also blend very well as you can see in the pictures i attatched. Lastly, the price-point for these was very reasonable for the quality and quantity you get, especially when compared to other brands of similar quality. I paid $45 and shipping was free bc i have amazon prime and they came from the UK. I was wondering if there would be any damage due to the long trip but there was only 2 broken leads and all i had to do was sharpen them once and the problem was solved. They sharpen very easily without issue too. Overall i highly recommend!

These are the VERY BEST and SMOOTHEST colored pencils!! If u haven't added them to your pencil collection yet you should. They are awsome to use for adult coloring books. The colors are so pretty and bright and so easy and smooth to color with. I keep buying pencils and tying to find that perfect pencil for coloring and I think this is the one. Highly recommend. I love these colored pencils, they are excellent quality, strong and durable and no grit in them like other pencils ive tried. I use these on white paper but they do work on black paper also. They are a great value for the money, strong and last long. I do highly recommend.

I’m just getting into adult coloring. I’ve read and watched a lot of reviews on budget colored pencils that don’t suck. These were on some lists as pretty good so I took a chance. I’m super happy with these pencils. Super creamy!! blending and layering are easily achievable even for a novice like myself. The pencils were badly sharpened upon arrival. It looks like someone chucked them with a knife. I have a great sharpener and they did produce a great point. Because these are super soft the point crumbles sometimes but that’s to be expected. The packaging it came in was super bad. Not any protection whatsoever. Just the box of pencils, without even plastic wrapped around it, thrown into a flimsy Amazon shipping envelope. I can’t even imagine how bad they were tossed around during the shipping process. That really made me mad. I buy a lot of products from Amazon and some care with fragile items would be appreciated.UPDATE: After using these pencils on a daily basis for a few weeks now I have a better feel for them. These pencils work really well but they don’t interact with other brands of wax pencils very well. When I color with just these pencils they work great. They blend and layer perfectly. Mixing them with other brands they don’t blend good at all. Also light layers are a must for amazing results. If I color to fast or with a heavier hand they clump up. I do like the colors. There’s a lot of different colors in this set that other brands do not offer.

When I heard about these "Black Editions" I thought they just meant the barrels were Black... But these pencils actually do VERY well on Black paper!! I absolutely love them! They are soft, RICHLY pigmented, easy to blend and works well on Black paper without having to use a white pencil base to draw on!

Very nice set, colors smooth. Lovely colors. I have only used them on white cardstock so far. But they are vibrant. Only "complaint" is I have 2 #733 pencils and they are different colors.. Guessing a misprinted number.

Since these came from Amazon UK I was expecting a few damaged tips upon arrival. Instead I found the package to be well packed with padding between each layer of pencils to minimize shifting of contents during delivery. And such great care resulted in zero broken tips upon delivery! The quality of the pencils is much better then I imagined! Great color laydown, well pigmented. Easy sharpening. I have used all of Faber Castell's colored pencil lines including Goldfaber and find them to be consistent in quality, delivering above expected excellence every time!

After trying out a few of these pencils in a retail store that charged almost twice as much, I ordered this large set. The pencils have a silky, creamy laydown, blend and layer nicely and are sturdier than their soft laydown would lead you to believe. I thought that the carton in which they arrived would serve as a suitable case, however, if you're like me and like to keep your pencils in a certain color-order, they slide around when the carton is opened and a pencil is removed, so I purchased a pencil case to store them. These are an excellent budget-priced pencil and if you don't require lightfastness, I recommend them for coloring and other non-archival uses.
