Biogreen HK4.3/GB 4.3m/ 25 W Soil Warming Cable

Ive been looking for a safe means of heating the soil for a while to grow winter salads and I think I have now found it.

Works as expected

Only 3 meters of the wire is heated not the 4.3 meters advertised!

Does what it is supposed to and is much more flexible than previous soil warming cables. It certainly speeds up germination of tender subjects and improves rooting of cuttings. Sensible price as well.

The cable arrived within 2 days. After a few minutes of pre warming to make the cable pliable I have now fitted it to the bench and connected it to a bio green thermostat the bench seems to be heating up nicely. I will review again once seedlings come through

simple and effective, but unless you are using it to take the chill off a fairly large volume of soil, you might find it is over-heating a smaller volume, in which case i strongly recommend combining it with a thermostat; i have resorted to using a timer, switching on and off at 30 minute intervals, which works ok.

I used this product to keep my plants warm during the cold weather.This product it’s easy to use and easy to adapt.Just lay this coil in a tray put some dry sand then lay plant pots and the heat is sufficient to do the job.

Have used another make of propagatorcable but never seemed to get things going quickly. This cable had enough heat to overcome surrounding falls in temp and get seeds to germinate quickly. Didn't have thermostat but didn't seem to make much difference if switched off in day time. Will look to get thermo for next year. Used cable in sand box. Would recommend.
