HYPERAX Iridium Hitch RV Approved and SUV Hitch Mounted Kayak Rack Carrier for RV, Camper, Trailer,Motorhome, Toad with 12 feet Kayak

This is my second purchased product from Hyperax. First was a bike rack and now the kayak carrier. Product is well built and great quality as I was expecting. Easy to assemble the rack and directions were easy to follow. The straps from the top bar are good but wish they were more of a hook style with ratchet. Otherwise great product.

Came on time and packaged well. Easily assembled with good directions. I haven't had the chance to try it yet so I'll update this when that happens.

The bolt which locks the rack to my hitches receiver did not properly run through the threaded insert in the rack and it caused the inner bushing to retract into the access hole on my 5th wheel trailer. This is an obvious defect as I have their bike rack with the same system and it works fine. The bushing would not push back in and it took over an hour to try and pound it in far enough that the rack would come off. I finally had to drill enough material out, then hook up a heavy tow chain and yank it off with my Ram3500 of which it took several yanks. I'm definitely not happy about it. We also noticed that while it states "anti wobble" included, it did not have what I consider to be anti wobble (device that bolts providing compression between hitch and rack. Despite the issue, we did try to hoist our 10' 53LB kayak onto the lower wrung. The lower rung is 44"!! It would have taken Hercules to pull this off. So even if we were offered a replacement, I would not take it. I'm badly disappointed. We had plans, we did our research and thought this might be good for us, but with the bolt issue and fact you have to be 7' tall with big arms to muster the strength to lift a kayak with two people up about 3 1/2 feet vertically... I did chatroom with a BOT, then I guess a human came on. But it took many minutes after my explanation and nobody responded. I went back about 20 minutes later after doing the refund with Amazon and they hung up. I do not recommend this.

this is totally one of the neatest racks I've ever seen - - took a bit to put together but the directions were great - is a bit heavy for one person but works great - totally a great purchase for those with kayaks -

Pay attention. To the up to 12 ft kayakMine didn't fit and it doesn't have vertical hieght adjustment so I needed to returnI would of kept it if the top of my kayak would sit lower that 13ft 6 in

The instructions did not match the parts and tools.1. They use a combination of standard and metric parts and tools...terrible idea.2. They provided 2 metric allen wrenches, supposedly a 10mm and an 8mm. But the 10mm was actually about a 15mm, it was huge and did not fit anything in the box.3. They stated in the instructions that a 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 8mm and a 10mm allen wrench were needed. A 10mm was not needed at all. The one place in the instructions that stated a 10mm was needed, was really an 8mm. The 2 spots that said an 8mm was needed, was actually a 7/32" allen wrench.4. There were 2 spots where it said a 17mm closed hex wrench was needed, but what was provided was not 17mm. Plus, it would not have worked anyway as a 14mm wrench was needed.Quality control on the instructions and the hardware is non-existent. You can tell the instructions were translated into English from another language and as stated before, the couple of tools provided were almost useless.Overall, it seems heavy duty enough, but haven't tried it yet. If my kayaks do not work, I will update this review and return this item. I have an Old Towne fishing kayak and an Ocean kayak.Update: my kayaks did not fit. The bottom areas where the kayaks are supposed to fit into, they did not. My kayaks just rested on top, the holes/openings that the ends of the kayaks are supposed to fit down into were nowhere near large enough. This rack probably works fine on those small, cheapo kayaks that are very pointy at the ends, but not large 10' plus size that are more snub-nosed.

Pricey. Made a few adjustment for straps but works great would buy again.
