Unfreaking believable...
This review is for the AERLANG shiatsu neck massager. This massager is no joke. I read a lot of reviews for a lot of different company's neck massagers here on Amazon before I finally purchased this one. I chose this one primarily because of the arm straps and I can't tell you how hugely important they are. One can tug the massager around by the straps so it massages many parts of the neck and back, oh my gosh, legs, too. It's yummy. Now, my unit does get hot- but not too hot- and it can provide a very rigorous massage and, yes, I do recommend you take it easy the first few times because it can leave you sore if you're not careful. I won't lie. There are two rotating heads each with four rounded nubs on them-two bigger and two smaller ones, and they counter rotate and spin and then they also change the direction that they do that in every few minutes. The rotating heads have a path of travel that, at one point, puts them about 3 inches away from each other, I'd say, which can put quite the powerful squeeze on one's neck or foot or any part that gets wedged in between them at that point, but it's easy to avoid this and it's actually not so likely that it will happen to your neck because of the rounded shape of your neck. It did almost happen to my foot, though, so I just wanted to let you know that it can happen. I sit up in bed with mine wedged behind my lumbar and then I lay flat with it just behind the back of my neck, using some additional pillows to perch myself comfortably and I just feel the tension melt out of my muscles.I waited a while after purchasing and operating it (for months now) with no problems. In response to people who claim that their's stopped working or were too hot or they made grinding noises; yes, I was worried that any of those things would start to happen to mine, but so far, the one I received seems of good quality and its operating perfectly. As one of the lowest priced shiatsu neck massagers available on Amazon when I purchased, I feel like it could possibly be one of the best ones because of those arm straps and the overall quality. Happy hunting!

You can't borrow mine.
I'm going to write this the day it arrived and then update it maybe if anything changes. I love it. I was going to write a silly review but I've been living with this shoulder stuff for so long that I think I owe it to anyone who might be experiencing something similar to be accurate. I have a deep chronic shoulder fatigue and pain along the rotator cuff and I've done everything from mush my shoulder into a door knob to using one of those tenderizing guns - This thing is way better. Impact massagers are for the birds, get one of these. The straps LOOK silly, yeah, but what they allow you to do is position it at angles and wrap it such that the nubbins can circle in hard to reach spots. The way the massage nubbins are setup give a very good approximation of the standard Massage thumb/finger roll, a small rolling into a bigger one, it's great. I've been positioning it at a slant against my left shoulder and controlling the pressure with the straps. I love it. I've also tried moving it from the base of my neck downward and, with attention paid to how much pressure you prefer, it's been wonderful. I'd recommend it for the price, I'm not sure what a more expensive one would even do, frankly. Vibrate, maybe? Oh, the heat is a'iight too. I'm mostly here for the nubbins. Glorious, massaging nubbins.

Disappointed
UPDATE 08/13/2025:The company reached out to me shortly after my comment and offered a full refund and a replacement! I'm going to be using a pillow case around it to help save the fabric over the motors from deteriorating too quickly.I really loved it, while both motors worked properly. The massage it gives is very nice and intense, heat really nice. But after less than a month the fabric started to wear down and within a couple weeks after that the fabric had ripped and the massage knobs had poked through. Because of that it seems the fabric has twisted around one of the knobs an made the motor on that side basically stop working. Pretty poor design in that the fabric wears down so quickly and that then affects the function of the device completely. I've been trying to make it work because I spent the money and the return window closed by the time the fabric was ripping but it's difficult as it wants to twist any fabric it comes into contact with around itself and it will rip up your skin if you put any pressure of the massager against bare skin. Wouldn't recommend which is a bummer because it was great for my shoulders while it did work.

I found it quite painful
If I found it so painful, why did I give it 4 stars? It works well and is simple enough to use. It does “heat up”, but not super warm. You can change the direction of the massagers. I think this is perfect for this type of massage. However, I don’t think I am a fan of this type of massage. I used it for less than 10 minutes and the next day my skin felt like someone had punched me. It didn’t hurt too much whenever I was using it, but the next day it was a different story. I felt like I was beat up by this thing. There are 3 speed levels and it doesn’t seem to get stuck. It’s pretty steady and pushes through those muscles.… a little too much.I gave it to my mom, who initially loved it. Then the next day she told me she hated it and didn’t want it because she also felt the sorenessAnyway, not for us. But works great and it’s cheap. So if you’re into this kind of massage, then it’s the perfect price point for what tou get.

Works Great! But only works on being plugged in
Got this for my husband who has major pain in neck and back. He opened it as soon as it was delivered and tried it out. His eyes were rolling in the back of his head. It's safe to say, he loves it. The only thing(and this is just from my pov) is it only works while plugged in. The heat feature and massage quality really improves his range of motion and pain relief. Nothing to speak on battery life since it's plug in only.
