Mix of elephants/paisley/meditation/mandalas
This book is so relaxing to colour and I really like the simple yet interesting designs that are all easy to colour. There are just so many different lovely designs which include elephants, meditation, Buddha, mandalas and other exciting Indian themes. One of the patterns you can enjoy colouring is paisley. The pages are not framed and some of the images end right on the edge of the page but there is a space in the spine of each page of roughly a centimetre to allow you to cut the page out.The pages are not perforated so you would need to be careful removing the pages from the book so you don't tear the image. The paper is white and the printing is all in black. The pages are not double sided so one side is blank (the reverse of the picture). If you use alcohol ink pens then the ink will bleed through to the other side but thankfully there is no image on the reverse but you would still need to put a piece of cardboard on the back of the image if you are colouring the picture while it is still in the book.If you use colouring pencils then it would not be a problem. There are 31 images to colour and they are all lovely and there are no repeat images.

The title page is split into easy to complete sections so you can pick it up ...
I found that colouring felt really productive. The title page is split into easy to complete sections so you can pick it up and easily make some progress in a few minutes. It was really satisfying at the end to see the progress I had made. I could easily spend hours colouring in each of the designs in turn to escape from the world around me. I found that focussing on colour combinations and keeping it tidy was enough to block out intrusive thoughts.I used pencils to colour in the pages as I think they are easier to manage than pens. If you were to want pens you would certainly need a fine tipped set. This book is great for pens as the design is only on one side of the page so it's unlikely to run through to another picture. There are some very fine detailed pages whereas others have slightly larger designs so you can choose your picture based on your mood. I was drawn to the Indian Summer book as I loved the variety and intricacy of the pictures.

Colouring in these pictures is a form of meditative practice which I would highly recommend. Doesn't like my markers
I love the designs although some of them are quite intricate and might take a little concentration if you're staying within the lines or want two colors very close to each other. Not suitable for air travel in case of turbulence you'll ruin it.I really like that the design does not go into the gutter so that even though the book doesn't lay flat, you won't have your design cut off. The back side of each page is blank which is nice if you have some bleed through, or want to remove it from the book to proudly display your work on the refrigerator. That said, I love my vibrant double tipped makers but the pages of this book do not. Not only did it bleed through the page (not a big deal because the back-side is blank) but they bled into the following page front & back (not okay). I don't have watercolor markers but school markers do not bleed through that much. Be forewarned.

I am happy with coloured pencils
Total pleasure....escape screens, listen to the radio, go on, give yourself a treat. I am happy with coloured pencils, and it is good that paper quality is good enough to tolerate layers of blended colour. Most of the designs are not too fiddly, but one or two are more pen friendly with very small spaces. Not all are paisley - which I prefer. About 40 designs, hours of slightly regressive (so what?) enjoyment.

Ok
This book is ok. It isn’t one I’d buy again. There are some lovely pictures but some of them are a bit tacky. This would suit a younger person.

... technicality which gives the reader a choice of how easy or difficult a pattern they feel up to colouring ...
The patterns to be coloured within this book are varied in their technicality which gives the reader a choice of how easy or difficult a pattern they feel up to colouring in. This also helps the brain focus on the patterns and almost forget the stress it was under prior to beginning colouring in. But they also allow the reader to still be part of a conversation whilst keeping their hands busy. The book is also small enough to fit in a bag so it can be taken anywhere. I love it.

Really excited about this book!
Really lovely book. Arrived on next day delivery. Only downside was it was a little crumpled. It's the thinnest colouring book I've bought so far. Should be time consuming to colour as designs are intricate, especially the elephant on the first page and some of the paisley and floral patterns have very thin lines. There's a nice blend of basic and complex designs with varying thickness/thinness of black outline. Right, let's get stuck in!
